Fluval Sea PS1 Protein Skimmer for Aquarium, for All Breed Sizes

If you have this tank, this protein skimmer is the one that fits in perfectly. For me, had to have my LFS tech put it in, set it up and ensure it was working correctly. Just one precaution, this will strip the tank of nitrates and phosphates so if you have corals that rely on them, you may not want to use this OR ensure it is at the lowest rate of waste removal. Pricy, like everything for a saltwater aquarium, but if you have corals I think it is an essential tool in good tank husbandry!

I installed my Fluval Sea PS1 a week ago. It does what it is advertised to do. Can't give it 5 stars because it emits a humming noise when powered up. I solved that problem by using a timer so that it only runs over night when no one is in the room to be bothered with the hum. It took little effort to install and adjust the unit. So far, it is well worth the price.

I set this skimmer up and instead of being and easy install, it turned into a pain in my butt. It constantly comes apart. I get it snapped back together and it continues to do it. When I finally get it placed in the tank, tons of microbubbles are escaping out of the seams. I double checked to make sure it was completely snapped together and it continues to produces bubbles out of the seams. I'm not happy with my purchase at all. Should've spent a few more dollars and got something better. Hoping I can return it.

Works perfectly in a 40 gallon tank. Keeps my Reef sparkly clean with the help of a few snails and a few crabs..

I gave this a great review when I bought it, but now about a year later, I'm dropping my review.Call me crazy, but I think a skimmer should last longer than a year. It's been nothing but problems. It skims well when it feels like working, but it fails a lot. The air tube gets clogged constantly. It fell into two halfs a few months after I bought it, and I had to use zip ties to hold it together. It doesn't fit under the lip of any aquarium, save for a Fluval aquarium I assume (never owned one), so you have to cut the lip to make room. And yesterday, it completely crapped out and now I need a new one.If I could go back, I would have spent a little extra money on a better skimmer, no question.

Looks cool, takes up alot of ro inside the tank, difficult to tune..
