BEST BUY ON AMAZON!
This 20qt. pot is perfect. I was skeptical when I read some damaging reviews. It makes me wonder if the reviewers clicked on the wrong product, when they wrote their review. It is absolutely 'Professional Grade'. With any nickel-free pot/pan, you MUST use and prep it properly: Before first use: 1. Wash with warm soapy water. 2. Wash again with vinegar & water solution. 3. Wash last time with warm soapy water. You're good to go. After you use it for the 1st time -- It can go into dishwasher . DO NOT use high heat. It isn't necessary to reach a quick boil. This pot is designed so well, it boiled 17 quarts of water in 9 minutes. This pot blows away the $$$ ones of comparable size. BTW, I'm a retired professional chef. Happy cookin'!!

Very Disappointed
I ordered this product specifically because it is stainless steel therefore will hold up well and be a good value. Well, no... The picture is after the first time I used it, as you can see there is damage. I brined a turkey in the pot, that’s it - it should not have eaten away at the material if the pot is indeed made as advertised.

Perfect for Stocks, Soups, Stews, Boiling, and Canning
Perfect. Just what I was looking for. I don’t mind cleaning my glass stovetop, but what’s even better is NOT cleaning it.This 16 quart Homi Chef pot is perfect for making recipes that splatter and/or foam-up like strawberry jam, canning water baths, accommodating extra large recipes. Recipes that typically foam-up, splatter, or pop liquids out of smaller pots and pans are no match for this pot's tall sides.Even with its tall sides, the pot still fits just right over a 9-10" burner, so it’s not so large that it’s impractical. It’s only the height of the pot that is extra large making it a good choice for typical home cooktops. The pot heats evenly, showing an even distribution of boil bubbles across the pot's bottom, with no visible hot spots. The pot remains easy to handle, even at high heat, with high handles set close to the top that remain cool to the touch, naturally easy to grip, and with no balance issues like pots with lower places handles.I especially appreciate that the pot comes with a custom fitted glass top perfect for containing heat and moisture for simmering stews, soups, and jams.

Defective product but outstanding customer service!
The 16 qt. stockpot got chips on the bottom inside the first time I used the product. I followed the instructions received with the pot, so I was very surprised to see little chips on the bottom. I have stainless steel pots that I bought 20 years ago and never had a problem. I also bought an 8 qt pot from the same company that works fine- no problems so far. Must be the materials in the 16 qt. stockpot that are different. The good news is that the company has an outstanding costumer service. I emailed the company about my problem and I received a response the next day! They offered to replace the pot. Hope there will be no more problems.UPDATE: After having the pot replaced I had no more problems. The company recommends seasoning the pots- which I find it a chore since if washing the pot with detergent requires re-seasoning- but it helps extend the product’s life. All in all, I am happy with the product, hence the 5 stars.

works great - no scorch spots on the bottom
I only use steel or cast iron to cook in and it is difficult to find those for cooking larger quantities. My previous pot was a single layer steel and I constantly struggled with scorching and burning on the bottom. I did not have this problem when cooking 20 qts of bbq beans.

Rusted after a Corn Beef Brine
I brined some beef for St. Patrick's Day and the pot rusted. My normal brine that I have used for several years with other stainless steel pots and I've never had a problem. The pot is not even a 1/2 year old, I was happy when it came in, it is nice and heavy with good heat distribution, but I CANNOT recommend this product, because of the rusting. The company quickly replaced the pot. For that service I have to give this more than one star. The product looks like a quality item, I am not sure what happened. Not sure if it was just my pot or what, but I don't think I will brine my brisket in it next year.

The Big Pot I've Always Wanted
We've been wanting a really large pot for canning and cooking big pots of soup for parties, but have always hesitated to buy one thinking our teeny tiny kitchen and stove space couldn't handle it for cooking or storing. Recently went through a purging of all nonstick coated cookware and questionable metal in our kitchen in an effort to use healthier materials in our cooking and discovered the HomiChef brand. After buying some of their smaller pots and being happy with them we got this one, and it fits just fine on our largest burner with room enough under the overhead fan for steam to do it's thing (see pic). The other pots amazed us with steel handles never getting too hot to touch even after hours boiling something, and this large pot is no different - the handles are actually far enough from the burner that they stay cool. We have no qualms about lifting it when full - the handles are very well designed. VERY solid construction on this, you can tell because the triple layered bottom doesn't heat up super fast (keeping the bottom contents from burning) but it comes to a boil easily and consistently despite being larger than the burner it's on. Was further thrilled that it fits in our sink under the faucet (no dishwasher in our home), and the cleanup is easy. LOVE that the lid is glass as well, being able to see what's cookin is always a nice bonus. Happy with this product and really comforted to be using nickel free steel. Wish we'd switched away from toxic cookware long ago! (Also, SO tempted to heat up water in this huge pot and soak my feet, it's so deep my calves would benefit as well, but I don't think anyone would want to eat out of it knowing I soaked my feet in it!) :)

Quality pan, good design, looks great
I bought this pan for steaming puddings and for jam and chutney making. It's really well made, arrived promptly accompanied by care and maintenance information to make sure I get years of good service from it. I'm really pleased with my purchase

Quality - Excellent
My wife and I have been canning for 40 years.I'm an Mechincal Engineer and do thermal dynamics.Excellent thermal distribution - good thick laminated base this is probably the most important feature of a good pot. You need even thermal distribution so the heat distributes well and cooks evenly. You still have to stir - but that's cooking! We bought the 22Quart (litre), but cleaning is still easy. Use a scotch pad if you do get the heat a little too high. There is nothing I can say bad about this great stock pot - we bought two AND they even look great!Although a little pricey - I highly recommend this pot if you are a serious cook.

Induction users please read
Great stock pot for health ( trusting for high quality stainless since such long cooking times ) I bought for use with induction range- wish it had multiple layers on sides for holding and transmission of heat. With large volumes of stock requires level 3-4 on Miele range which times out faster the higher the setting. ( safety measure for overheating). If using level 1-2 can last up to 6 hours on induction range before time-out. If using 3-4 setting times out 2-4 hours. So learn from my mistake if using induction for healthy bone broth simmered at 180degrees for 10-12 hours for best collagen. Better to buy large crock pot or be ok with being awake to move pot to different elements- food safety issue.

Important pot in our kitchen
The size could be two quart less, but it is a very useful part of our kitchen.. no spill over, and very good distribution of heat, there in evidence at low setting. It is a bit heavy for my wife but it is useful when I am cooking a big soup to share among my neighbours or friends on a visit. Like the details on the instruction page sent with the product. Yes nickel free is ceratinly a big benefit, considering my own problem with it in the past and, as documented in public.

12 qt larger than I figured, has some heft
No complaints - this 12 qt pot was bigger than I figured but I would rather have bigger than too small especially for big batches of vegetable soup. I've been making soup outside using a small induction cooktop and this setup has been working very well. The included instructions say to ONLY use medium heat and warn against using with a propane cooker that exceeds 12,000 btu so I have rated this **four stars** instead of five because it would have nice to have the option of using it with the outdoor turkey fryer.
