Robin Hood Men In Tights [DVD]

This is NOT Blazing Saddles or The Producers
If you have seen the trailer then you have seen the best bits. Why Brooks thought the anachronisms would be funny I have no idea. There were no black guys doing rap in whatever century this is supposed to be set in. As for the pump up trainers and all the black culture references - Oh my aching sides. How unfunny to the point of embarrassment for the black actors taking part.Unfunny, dated and crass. I fast forwarded a lot of it looking for funny scenes that were not there. Fortunately I bought it second hand.

Its Mel Brooks - Need I Say More 😀
As a big fan of Mel Brooks films, and Blazing Saddles still one of my all time fave films to just belly laugh too I knew Men In Tights was never going to hit those sort of heights. But i have to say it's a good old romp with some stilly one liners and a few good laugh out loud moments to be hold.Good old fashioned fun for all, even with a bit of swearing but not too harsh for the younger kids. But I would watch it first just to be safe.I just love how it rips Prince of Thieves on so many levels and the odd nod to Blazing Saddles did put a smile on my faceNo classic, but by no means a sticker either just a fun silly film

We're men in tights
Robin Hood returns from the Crusades to fight the evil Sheriff of Rottingham. One of Mel Brooks' last films, this has some very funny moments but not quite up there with Mel Brooks' classic comedies. It's a satire on the Robin Hood legend, mostly spoofing Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, and in places it's a very accurate, spot on spoof of the film. Cary Elwes is funny as Robin Hood who unlike other Robin Hoods does speak with an English accent while Roger Rees does a spot on Alan Rickman impression as the Sheriff of Rottingham. Mel Brooks appears as Rabbi Tuckman. It's funny but not quite a classic comedy.

Mel Brooks Made Funny Films
We enjoyed it as a family. It is a well done send up of the Errol Flynn 1938 version. I was thankful that some of the humour went over our eleven year olds head. Mel Brooks is funny and appeals to our silly sense of humour, but I can understand why this film probably would not be made in our more sensitive times.

A comedy classic from a fertile mind
This movie, which I've seen several times, is a comedy classic. There's not sufficient room to describe it. Anybody who has watched and enjoyed Spaceballs or Blazing Saddles will enjoy it. I decided to add it to my library before it's too late.

Best Robin Hood film ever!
Just watched this again for the first time since it originally came out and can't fault it. It's wildly silly and still very funny, although I can imagine that the humourless PC brigade would object to some aspects. I now have the superb 'Men in Tights' song stuck in my head!

Lovely funny film
I had a VHS of this film that I used to watch with my two sons, I ordered a DVD version so that I could relive the enjoyment, it did not disappoint. Lovely, silly, funny film.
