Does this razor give a good close shave on older mature skin ??

Davad, here's my review as posted in 10 January 2023. If you think you'll get a close shave like you would with hand held bladed razor forget it you will not despite what i'm about to say. First off this electric razor has a large head, get used to it! Allow it to explore the contours of your chin and neck, the razor has a nice side to side, back and forward movement or if you prefer a fixed position is available, I hold my razor close to it's head placing my thumb on the rest, with index finger behind the head the shaver weighs in at 198g without protective cover. Panasonic say the battery will last approximately 2 weeks. This may well be true if as stated on page 10 of operating instructions (Based on one 3 minute dry-shave); I don't have heavy stubble even I would be hard pushed to get a nice shave in 3 minutes! The unit is well engineered, good materials used in construction, nicely balanced has a pop-up sideburn trimmer behind the head. Interested in this shaver but concerned about the maintenance costs ie foil /blade and battery replacement. Please advise

I haven't had to replace the foil or blades yet. I've been using the razor for about 6 months now and my last shave was as good as the first. You can get foil and blade replacements for about £40, which I don't think is bad. At RRP of £80 it is getting a little pricey, but I think still worth it. As for the battery? I have no idea if it's replaceable or not. I think if it gets to the stage that I think it needs a new battery I'll just buy a new shaver. This is the best electric shaver I have ever owned, and I've owned loads. I love it!

How well does it pick up and shave flat lying or longer hair?

I've never found an electric shaver which will cut long hair and I've had various makes. With the Panasonic I use the trimmer to cut the hairs short and then use the shaver to cut down to skin level. The Panasonic does this well. Hope this helps.

Does panasonic es-lv6u have a uk 2 pin or 3 pin plug? if not what does it have, i have a 115v and 230v 2 pin in the bathroom. thanks
