Mantello Cigars V-Cut Cigar Cutter Gloss Black in Gift Box

If you’re like me, you’re trying to justify dropping $40+ on another Colibri to replace the one you just wore out. However, you’d REALLY like to put that $40 toward a box of your favorite sticks instead of a cutter. If so, buy this cutter. Though not as durably built as a Colibri, I was surprised with its construction and weight. Seems to be built out of die cast metal and plastic internals, but it’s solid. Smooth, tight action, though not spring loaded like a Colibri. Very sharp blade. Elegant package presentation as a gift. I’ve cut about 15 cigars with it so far and it gives a smooth, clean cut every time. My only complaint, though not a big one, is that the circular indent where you place the head of the cigar for cutting is more shallow than you’d find on your Colibri. Cutting a 58-60 gauge cigar may leave you with a more superficial cut than you’d want. But anything smaller gauged allows for plenty of draw. This may actually be a positive however as you’re less likely to cut too far into the cap and unravel the wrapper. Don’t get me wrong, Colibri makes a fine cutter. But considering you could buy and wear three of these out for the price of one Colibri, that makes this a no brainer purchase. Buy this cutter and go buy a couple nice sticks with what you saved buying a higher priced cutter. **update** I now have about 150+ cigars cut with this cutter. I’ve left it out in the rain, snow, extreme cold and heat, and the thing continues to cut without any dragging. The paint has peeled off and it looks rough, but it’s still getting the job done. I upgraded my rating to 5 stars simply because this thing is a tank and great value.

I got this for my husband after his basic cutter broke and honestly, this one is super impressive. It's actually really elegant, has beautiful detail, and cuts perfectly without squishing. I am super happy with it, as is he, especially when he shows it to his friends. It looks super expensive, so the pricepoint was even better. We'll definitely be ordering another one if it ever breaks but he's had it for over a year now with no issues.

The cigar cutter is easy to use and looks great. The only downside is that the cutting action is not that smooth and could be better. It may need oil or more use. Otherwise great look and nice cutter.

This is an excellent V cutter for cheap. This is not, at all, the same quality as those cheap little plastic cutters (albeit they work, just don't cut very good for long). This is a heavy, very well made cutter. It legit feels more substantial than the top 2 brand names we all know. I am very happy I took a chance on this, as I def considered spending $40-60 on a good brand name V cutter. I am happy with this. I generally only cut Belicoso, torpedo stuff with a tip on the end, otherwise ur defeating the purpose of buying a Cigar of that type, if ur just gonna chop the entire tip off and turn it into regular cut. Additionally, it comes in a very nice little box (if you were to gift this, if the person doesn't look it up, they will absolutely think its a $50 cutter. I have never seen a cutter, in this price range, this well built. You cannot go wrong with this.

I've been a V-cut guy for decades. I like the feel of it and usually get a cleaner, more consistent cut than with other types of cutters. Usually I just keep a couple cheap ones around because they mostly do the job. I finally decided to get one that cost more than ten bucks! (But hey, I'm not going to spend $15!) It turns out this one really is much better. It slices the cap cleaner and instead of crumbling the tobacco, when I slide the cutter open the cut-off section just falls out cleanly in one chunk. Wish I'd known about this handy gadget a lot sooner! It's also bigger than than those cheap plastic V-cutters I've owned and works great for a 60 ring cigar. (If you like skinny cigars this might lop off too much. I don't smoke anything below a 42 and it works fine for that.) It's also got a nice hefty feel to it and seems well put together.

I chose this product because I wanted cutters that I wouldn't worry about losing or breaking due to the price. The guillotine feels cheap and it doesn't have any kind of spring to help hold it open or closed. The holding open would be nice to make it feel more like an even cut. Having it stay closed would be nice so I could put this in my pocket without worrying about it opening and either snagging on something or cutting me when I put my hand into an open guillotine when I reach into my pocket. If you're looking for cheap cutters, this is the way to go.

This cutter is so good you will not even believe it. I read some reviews that said it was hard to use, that is so not true. This thing will cut where you want to cut every time, first time, it is very sharp, so easy to use. It's definitely worth the money, it is a bargain at this price point, It is a quality cutter.
