Hilo, Goodbye (Islands of Aloha Mystery Series Book 8)

Loved the series. Picked up one of these on a lark as I like the play of words of the titles. Was hooked from the first. Loved the descriptions of Hawaii, loved the characters and all their idiosyncracies, loved the immersion into local culture, loved the humor and found the mysteries just mysterious enough to enjoy. Sometimes you want Arthur Conan Doyle, sometimes William Kent Kreuger and sometimes only JoAnn Bassett will do. Sorry the series ended.

This book is by far the best of all the previous books!! It had a good flow & wrapped everything up at the end. I was sad to finish.

Have been to Islands many times. Thoroughly enjoyed revisiting with Pali. She is a very endearing character. Bright, funny, and flawed enough to be real. Will definitely re-read the series.

Love these novels and I feel like I have an Ohana from Hawaii. I enjoyed how loose ends were tied up in the end! So hard to set these books down and they have helped me get through the pandemic we're experiencing. I've been to Hawaii five times visiting all four major islands. Maui is my favorite and I feel as though I'm visiting many fond memories. Thank you JoAnn😘

I love Hawaii and reading JoAnn Bassetts books let me relive my times in Hawaii. Her character of Pali Moon is very likable and easy to identify with. Her friends are all strong characters in their own right. Pali has adventures on all of the habitable Hawaiian Islands. But my recent time in Hilo made this book extra fun for me. It's an easy read full of intrigue and mystery without being heavy handed with violence. You gotta love a petite blond with a black belt!

I have followed this wonderful series from beginning to end. The author tied up everything in the end and I thought it was a fitting finale for this series. I am however sad to know that there won't be more in this series by this talented author. The author had the ability to make you laugh and kept you hanging till the end to find out who the murderer was. I will miss you Pali Moon.

Sorry, I loved the other books in the series, but this one felt less like a labor of love, and more like a forced contractual obligation.

Sorry to see Pali saga end. It was a fun trip to the last vacation spot. I enjoyed all the turns. I've downloaded the followup to Maitai Butterfly to keep up with the island fun.

Nice little romantic novel. Brought back good memories of the Big Island.

This book completed the travels around the Hawaiian Islands very well, touching on events and characters from the previous books in the series.
