Pestell Paw Thaw Pet Friendly Ice Melter Jug, 12-Pound

Have used this product for many years. Very effective on keeping my sidewalks ice free and is gentle on my dog's paws. Timely arrival as it came before listed in the order. I was pleased with this since the day after I got my package, we were hit with an ice storm. Worked very well.

An excellent product that protects my dogs paws and is very effective in melting snow and ice. Even used it on my deck with no discoloring. Great product. I've ordered even more bags for this year and next! Recommend it for pet owners who care about their pets safety and safely melts snow and ice on concrete sidewalks.

This pet safe ice melter works well. It certainly is coming in handy during these snow storms and deep freeze cold. However, it is blue! BLUE slush on your sidewalk and blue slush on puppy paws and human boots. It looks like your sidewalk is a raspberry slushy. When we get to the wool rug in the enclosed porch, we have to put down runners to prevent damage to the rug.Thank you Petco for having this in stock. We really needed it and are glad we have it. However, if you have an alternative.... just saying.

Does what it say and doesn't bother the dogs feet!

This ice melt is good. I wanted to not hurt the dogs in my neighborhood. But it never snowed or froze up again in my city but I will have it for next winter.

2014 winter in NYC has been brutal with the snow, freezing rain and freezing temperatures. I decided to give this a try as many of my neighbors have dogs and it's been pretty icy out.In a nutshell this product works as advertised in regards to ice and not irritating pets paws. Since this ice melt isn't the usual stuff you might get from the hardware stores or gas stations that contain calcium chloride, it doesn't work as quickly nor does it work that well when temperatures dip below 30 degrees f. I found that when temps are above 30 degrees that it works just fine melting the ice and snow.A 12lb jug like this goes by pretty quick for me. I have a walkway that's about 30' long and a sidewalk that's about the same length. Conservative application can get you through about three uses. I saved the jug when done so that when I can find 20lb bags of ice melt, it can be reused to spread salt.If you need something stronger, works faster, no worries about pets or surface and works in colder temps, look for ice melts that contain calcium chloride.
