Nice, one flaw
Works very well and extremely convenient to simply plug into the power socket to keep battery topped up. If your Porsche’s not a daily driver, don’t learn the hard way that it’s a pain to get the “frunk” of a modern 911 or 718 open once the battery runs down! (You have to connect 12 volt source to a point on fuse block under dash). Your battery WILL run down if car is not driven weekly. And of course the “frunk” is where the battery lives…. The charger is overpriced compared to the generic model, but if you want the Porsche labeling, you pay for it. At least It does include the nice protective rubber bumper and car plugs, which is extra on base models. The only flaw is that in the event of power loss the charger does not return to “on” status after power is restored, so if you’re away for a while or don’t notice, your battery will run down even though charger is connected and plugged in. Some of the other models of this brand return to charge status when power is restored, like this one should. Unlike other reviewers, I have had good success with this brand charger lasting for years under continuous use. I have 5 of them, several over 6 years old, that are still going strong. I have not had the same success with other brands.

charged a dead battery - happy about that :)
so far so good. charged a not-long dead battery on a Boxster within 12 hours (may have been fewer hours but left it plugged in overnight and in the morning the battery was ready to go and started right up) ... used only once so far and look forward to consistent charging when car not in use. quite compact which is good for ease of use. functional as expected. *** be sure to select which type of battery you are charging because there are three options *** (motorcycle/car/lithuim) nice long cords on both sides. plugged one cord into the "cigarette" lighter inside the car and the other cord into a regular 110 outlet. no problem.

Quality charger that is easy to use
The Porsche charger is perfect for my needs. I have a vehicle that requires accessing the trunk and removing panels to access the battery. Utilizing the cigarette lighter for the charging plug bypasses the cumbersome process. The Porsche charger is pricier than other chargers. However, in my opinion, the construction quality/material with the attachable rubber bumper casing and ease of use make up for the difference. The Porsche Charge-o-mat is by far better than the other battery maintainers I've purchased in the past.

Return before it’s too late. Junk
It does NOT turn on! I had to go out of my way to spend $215 for something that DOES NOT TURN ON! There’s no FAQ for if it doesn’t turn on. No phone number or website. I’m pretty sure this is NOT a genuine Porsche product. I went to Rennlist.com (Porsche owners know them) and posted the following. I would give this paper weight ZERO stars but I’m human. “Hello all! I’ll try to make this short. My 986 is dead and I can’t access the battery in the fronk as it needs power to flip the switch. I’ve tried tow trucks to jump it via the fuse box. No luck. The car died on me while I was driving. I can’t access the main cable as I don’t have the tools nor the time. So I went to amazon on bought a battery charger/maintainer. I 1st plug it into my wall. It doesn’t light up. I figure it must have to be hooked into the cigarette outlet. Nope. The device doesn’t have an ON/OFF switch and no phone number to call. . So now I’m stuck. Is it a bunk product? It has “Porsche” on it (see pic). Do I send it back? Finally, with all of your knowledge, how in the world do I get this car going again? It’s a 2002 911 stock. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thank you for for taking your precious time to help a fellow PCA, Rennlist and Porsche owner. Have a nice weekend and I sure hope you have some answers for me. 😢👍🏼😊

Does it the job right - a little too expensive
Good as expected and advertised. Expensive vs other alternate options- however I didn’t want to gamble it and try and error other options - lost one start just because of price.

Its good.
Yes. It did not disappoint. More expensive than others, but if you have the car younought to have top shelf.

Ease of use
The ability to charge and keep charged a battery through cigarette lighter is genius. Access to battery terminals in the newer Porsche requires the removal of panels to access the battery terminals. So convenient
