Thank you Mr. Pluto.
Terry Pluto delivers once again. Before LeBron there were great teams and great characters in Cleveland. A.C., World, Nate, Chones, and of course my favorite Cavs team with Price, Hot Rod, Daugherty, and Nance. Headed up by the great ownership of Mr. Gund, one of the finest NBA executives Wayne Embry, and hall of fame coach Lenny Wilkens. The author deems these teams as “very good” but not “great” but what they meant to me is nothing short of greatness. Growing up with three channels I rarely saw them play but listened every night to the greatest broadcaster (of any stripe) of all time, the incomparable Joe Tait tell their story. And I got to hear that story once again, many times reading through tears, told by the finest sports writer I know of. Cleveland sports fans have been stymied time and again by our teams, but our broadcasters and writers are the best in the world, and they carry that load to keep us all keeping the faith. Thanks Mr. Pluto!

Please any Cavs or NBA fan pick up this book. Terry Pluto who has been there from the beginning, as a fan and reporter documents early years of the Cavs. The writing is smooth and carefree. He identifies key figures and brings us along their journey. Nick Mileti, Bill Fitch and Joe Tait to name a few. This could be a play or better yet a movie. Big Short guys are you listening.

What a fun book!
A perfect mix of personal memories, little-known facts and hilarious anecdotes. The early chapters made me feel as if I was right there in the old, dingy Arena on Euclid Avenue and later in the glorious Coliseum among the remote farmlands of Richfield. Well done.
