Recently purchased a true “ thru the wall” or “ built in the wall” air conditioner. It’s been working nicely but the filter that comes with it is constantly making the “ clean filter” light come on. We have cats and allergies to all the awesome stuff outside as well as some indoor allergies. Whenever the check filter light goes on ( once every 7-10 days) - there isn’t a lot of stuff in the original filter that came with the AC. But I do see some cat fur. Anyway, we only run the AC about 8-12 hours a day. I vacuum 3x daily because allergies. And some OCD. This white filter is interesting. You can see a lot better, what it’s catching, as opposed to the black filter. It cut easily, and I slipped it on top of the filter that came with the ac to hold it in place. ( hope that’s not a “no-no”. The filter us a woven nylon material. I’ve attached photos because it’s hard to describe. It’s thick, and someone else’s review complained that it isn’t 2-ply like the photo. It feels like it would be itchy if you had to wear it. Wish I could explain better. The photo that is shown on the product page is demonstrating that there are 2 layers blended together. You can not peal the layer up like they’re showing. Anyway, the filter works very well, in conjunction with my existing filter, which is a very thin ( like paper) mesh. This filter is the full 1/4 “ thick. It’s catching stuff for sure, but it hasn’t been in long enough to trigger the “ check filter” light yet. It’s doing a good job because I do see what it’s catching. It’s doing what it should. It did not have a chemical smell at all. It didn’t smell at all. Some people said it did. I was concerned since any weird smell can trigger my allergies. Content with this product. It wasn’t expensive at all. Recommend.

Good filter

Works as intended and a is lot cheaper than original factory replacement filters. I ordered a size bigger than needed and it was very easy to trim down to the size I needed for my air conditioner. The airflow seems good, no weird smells and seems to filter dust well.

Have a small refrigerator, also have a shedding dog in an SUV; Filter material, cut to size, fit to air grille works great.

I originally purchased this because the front of coil on my window heat pump was making it clear the included mesh filter was letting too much through. I use this now in front of the included filter, and vacuum it out at the same time, and it appears to be doing the job. I also use this as a pre-filter for a Hamilton Beach air purifier ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIDFSE8 ) that lacks one. UPDATE: I originally discarded the filter after it started to turn grey after being vacuumed, but I discovered that if I washed it using the knit/delicate cycle on my washer, it came out looking like new. I've only done this once for each filter so I can't attest to how many cycles it will endure, but it definitely lengthens the useable life of the filter.

I find this filter a bit thick for AC. I used Filtrate filter for AC until they were not available on Amazon or other stores.

I use them as filters behind my window fans. Let’s air in; keep buys out. Wash gingerly?.

Just Beware little Thick for week Fan Units. Need to have a Strong Fan to use. Fit as needed
