Dried Zante Black Currant - 1 lb

I needed zante currents for my Ruggelach recipe that make for family and friends (they request it) every New Year’s. I was in a bind because I couldn’t find them locally anywhere. I guess everybody’s using these little tiny nuggets in their baked goods this season. So I took a chance in ordered the Amrita Sante currents from Amazon and I’m so glad that I did. They were well worth the price. They’re sweet and so fresh and made my already amazing ruggelach even more amazing. These Zante currents are so fresh and so sweet. I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I was gonna get the same things that I usually get at the supermarket. I didn’t know such Yummies on currents existed! They were really that good. Thank you for providing a product that made my recipe taste even better than it already did. I highly recommend investing in these, they’ll take your recipe up a whole bunch of notches.

These currants are so good! No added sugar and great for any recipe or on their own. I have ordered them multiple times!

These are great quality currants and delicious. They are healthy and not packed with soy, a nice addition to however you wish to prepare or just eat plain with your favorite nuts! That is, we do!!!

A tad expensive but overall I like them. Price is only reason not 5 stars.

I am at fault for not reading more, but the product maker is at fault for tricky advertising or product naming. This is NOT Black currant. It is JUST Zante currants. Taste and health benefits are completely different to one another. Per Dr Axe, “Are red currants and black currants the same? No; common Zante currants are not related to black currants, which are members of the Ribes family of flowering shrubs. Zante currants are more easy to find in stores than black currants. Black currants are a bit smaller, sour, and are exceptionally high in antioxidants such as anthocyanins and phenolic acids, according to studies. Black currant is also a plant that is used to make a therapeutic oil, derived from the leaves, fruit and flowers of the plant. According to studies, black currant seed oil is used for treating conditions like: high cholesterol and blood pressure, digestive issues, pain, arthritis, infections, and menopause and PMS symptoms.”

These were fresh and very good.
