This little device has proven twice that it works very well. First time was a false alarm where a leak had come from another part of my plumbing. Second time, my RO system's waste tube has backed out of the drain, shooting water into the cabinet. System shut itself off promptly, no true damage to the cabinet and overall easy problem to fix! Very easy setup, have it settled between RO filter system and plumbing. Shuts off completely when open as in picture. So glad I thought to add this feature to my system! I use in conjunction with a WiFi leak sensor, so I knew I had a leak in the cabinet and was able to get back home quickly to investigate. Glad that all of these features exist, as it saved me from more headaches and definitely works well!

This is an awesome mechanical shut-off valve; compatible with 1/4" RO line. It can be refilled with 'compressed towel tablets' - I purchased a hundred pack for cheap. It comes with 3 of them in the box. I have 2 of these units. One before my RO unit, and one at my storage vat. The fact that all of potential for flooding has been eliminated to just the "in" connections to these shut off valves brings me great peace of mind - and for a very fair price! Well worth the investment.

Seems to work well and it is conveniently small and but it is far from easy to setup as the instructions claim. The tubes are not included, and the descriptions claims no tools are needed setup even though the demo video itself shows someone using a screwdriver that fits the head of the tiny screws used to hold the thing down. I can’t install these now because I don’t have the pipes and need to shop for them…

Last time my RO system leaked in the middle of the night we ended up with thousands of dollars of damage to our kitchen and garage. By the time our cat woke me up, because she couldn't get to her dish, water was well into the living room . I replaced the RO under warranty and installed this shut off valve, and an alarm. Day before yesterday, I came home to chirping sound I could not place. It turned out the my new replacement water softener started leaking while I was out. The valve did it's job, and the chirping alarm (a separate item not related to this review) let me know there was a problem. This product would have more utility if instead of the double sided tape, that didn't stick to anything for more than a couple of minutes, it came with suitable wood screw and nuts and bolts for mounting. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember the product picture showing 2 wood screws as a part of the kit. Mine didn't come with any. I have no association with this product or its seller. I have paid for it out of my own pocket. I highly recommend this product. It is a 10 star out of 5 based on my experience. Next time I install any water system, nothing will be connected to water unless I already have this shut off installed. This should be supplied with all water conditioning systems.

This leak stop valve does exactly what it says it does. Please keep in mind that this only shuts off the water supply to the filtration system. You may want to add a second one to the output of your water storage/pressure tank.

Did not include the clips shown in the picture. My RO system had some spare 3/8ths clips but they feel a little too small. They never really clipped. I was able to install it though and it doesn't leak. The sticky pad is a small square and doesn't seem to hold it in place. I was able to get the tension from the input tube to push it down but I have no confidence it will stay in place. I am installing it on a silicone pet water bowl mat and don't want to screw holes in the mat. I was hoping the stick pad would hold it down. It does not. I should have taken a picture before I installed it, but if you look down the input hole you can see spring that helps it operate. All of the water that goes through this will pass over the metal spring. I'm using this in RO system for drinking water and I'm it sure how I feel about the drinking water flowing over a spring made out of some unknown metal. I have no way of testing if this will really stop the water without risking damage to my RO system. I tested by closing the valve and trying to blow through the input hole. I could not blow though it, so I assume it would stop the water. Overall, I will likely return this and have already purchased a $20 battery operated shutoff valve that is higher rated and that Amazon said people usually purchased with this.

Easy to install and a very simple and straightforward mechanism for shutting off the water in the event of a leak. Could save a lot of money in prevention of water damage. I haven't been able to test it fully because I haven't had a leak but I like the simplicity of it and feel somewhat assured that it will work when needed.

What a geat idea. Just finished rebuilding a cabinet floor due to a leak so this is a wonderful tool. I did make a mistake and ordered this one with the wrong fitting size so had to send back.
