Motorola MicroUSB Adapter Cable for Motorola Droid A855 (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I have a mobile broadband router, sometimes called a MiFi router, that has a USB data connection. I usually plug this router into a desktop computer so there is only one wireless connection (to the carrier) instead of two (and also to the computer).Trouble is, when I leave the router attached to the computer and turn the desktop off, the batteries in the router eventually drain. Now I could have purchased a data + power micro USB cable. But instead, I used this adapter with a mini USB version of this same cable, the type normally packaged with external DVD and hard drives.The adapter works just fine. Data and power go back and forth. It is well constructed. And the retaining strap will keep you from losing the adapter if it accidentally detaches from the cable.Five stars for a quality cable that does the job and is built to last.

Had a Blackberry Bold 9000 (and a few other BlackBerries before that) and finally decided to upgrade my phone. All newer phones have microUSB ports but the Bold 9000 uses miniUSB. Rather than throwing away the older BlackBerry chargers, all of which were miniUSB, I decided to take a chance with this microUSB adapter.I read a few other reviews that this adapter did not bridge the data pins. I bought this despite those reviews since my primary purpose was charging my new phone. However, in my experience, the cable works perfectly and bridges all the pins, including the data pins, since I've even copied data using an older miniUSB cable + this adapter. I haven't bent or twisted the adapter but it appears to have held up well to normal use and I've not had a problem with it so far.Price appears to have gone up since I bought this, but that's inflation and not the fault of this cable. Extremely happy with the purchase.

I use mine on my motorola droid. I can only use it to charge the phone though. If i try to use the phone with it plugged in the phone goes crazy. So it is either that the adapter does not work with the charger or the adapter does not work well with my phone. None the less it can only be used to charge the phone. And this is only when the phone is in a dormant state or in the off position. If i had not purchased the wrong mini usb power adapter i would never have had to purchase this adapter. Don't make the same mistake i did, second, third, and fourth check what you are purchasing. The power adapters i purchased were not motorola made, so it is possible i guess that this would work with a motorola power adapter.

So I originally got this adapter for the sole purpose of using existing power sources to charge my HTC EVO 3D, my bluetooth uses a standard mini plug and I didn't want two adapters in the car. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that not only did the phone charge but that this connector made it compatible for synching data with my computer too. Note- I was using a firewwire usb cable from my desktop to the phone, your experiences may vary ;-P ... in the very least you will be able to use your existing car charger or wall chargers with this adapter and a HTC Evo 3D versus having a second set or a pile of cables in the car so it's a more than adequate bargain.

Our family had used motorola cell phones in the past because they all used the same charger; what a convience! I purchased a Motorola Droid, and was disappointed that it uses a slightly different USB-type charer. We have so many of the regular USB chargers still in the house! When I found this device on Amazon with a terrific price, I ordered it right away. What a great thing to have! I now can use all our chargers and I don't have to purchase new chargers. I may have to buy a couple more of these connectors, but I'd still be well ahead of what I would have to pay for a new charger for my phone!

This adapter is simple and money-saving. Just upgraded from a regular cell phone to a smart phone. Instead of throwing away my mini-USB chargers and buying all-new micro-USB chargers, I bought a few of these simple adapters.They work great. Absolutely no difference between this option and a brand-new micro-USB chargers!Works with ANY phone (and any cell provider) that needs a micro-USB connector (if you already have a mini-USB charger)...not just Motorola / Verizon. Works with Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and other provider's phones, too.

I am used to recharge my devices while at the car. I always carry a charger for iPod or iPhone and a charger for mini USB devices like my Nextel radio. Lately the new models have a MicroUSB input but so far I have nor found a MicroUSB-USB cable to recharge so this adapter cable is the answer for me. It has a convenient loop to wrap around the end of the Mini USB so you will not loose it. Now I can charge my Nextel with the miniUSB and my Bluetooth speakers with the microUSB adapter. Hope it works for you too.

Bought it for my (Sprint) HTC EVO 4g. Charges and passes data - both. Very pleased w/ product though miffed that price dropped from time of order (few days ago) to time of writing. <:-( Product also well constructed. Tether very handy so as not to lose. Bit more pricey compared to others but does the job and certain it will last.
