This wall plate was exactly what I needed after installing my Sensi thermostat. It covered the leftover holes and unpainted areas from the previous unit, giving the installation a clean and professional look. This product, although often times sold with the Sensi touch, is not 100% a fit for the Touch. However, with a very small modification this works perfectly, and far cheaper (less than 50% of the plate that will work, so they claim). To make this work there are two tiny prongs on the outside surface of the plate (where the thermostat base sits) that prevent the base sitting flush. I cut them off and it works nicely. The plate sits flush and you cannot tell that it was not meant for the touch. I needed this because the old thermostat fit into a vertical blue gang box and the Sensi touch really requires a horizontal mount. I did not want to go through that work, it was easier just to buy a plate to sit behind the thermostat. NOTE: I took a chance even though it is documented that this is not for the Sensi Touch because this was less than $7 and the one that is a non-brand that is supposed to work with the Sensi Touch as greater than $15, I needed two, so this was a trial and error kind of thing for me. And I just figured out this little "trick" to make it work.

I was not sure if this would fit the Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat but it does. They don't sell one that I could find made for the Lite model. There are two small tips on either side of the plate that you need to break off or sand down carefully. This allows the Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat to fit flush to the plate. Screw holes align perfectly and easy to install with the thermostat. Covers holes from old thermostat and looks professionally installed. The plate is well made and solid. Looks nice.

Including the wall plate with the installation of a new Sensi thermostat makes for a more finished look and, if you have painted, it may also cover the margin between old and new color paint.

Note: This wall plate is not for the model thermostat I purchased (Emerson Sensi ST75S). I did not fully read the description so it's completely on me. However, I don't believe this model has a wall plate as I could not find one and when you Google ST75 wall plates, this one comes up so it's very misleading. I realized the wall plate was incorrect when I received it and tried to install it. I did not feel like exchanging so I made it work. I'm posting this review in case anyone else needs a wall plate for this model thermostat since I don't believe they currently offer one. If you notice on the picture I attached of the wall plate itself, the red arrows are pointing to two plastic protrusions that the correct thermostat attaches and fits in to. In order to allow the plate to fit with my thermostat, I actually had to remove those two plastic latches by cutting them off and sanding it down. Doing this did not affect the functionality or look of the wall plate since the area that was cut sits behind the actual thermostat and is hidden when installed. As you can see, I was able to install the wall plate and thermostat and all is great! The thermostat sits flush on the wall plate and it does what it is supposed to do by covering old holes in the sheetrock. The quality of the plate is perfect for what is needed. And looking past my own mistake, I would recommend this for the thermostats it is actually made for (and the one I have (Model # ST75S) :) ). -The Handywoman

Plate fit perfectly. Thermostat looks great now and hides the old thermostat outline.

I liked that it covered the outlet box that was under my old thermostat, I also had to snip of the little plastic tabs so the new thermostat sat flat on the cover.

I went from a vertical thermostat to the horizontal Sensi. This plate covered the wiring hole and all but one of the screw holes. If it had been a half larger, that would have been covered, too. The thermostat easily and perfectly mounts to the plate.
