Pros: simply well made. Attractive. The note paper is ok. The pen that came with it is awesome. Cons: I can't think of any. I wanted this simple designed field book to take notes with. I expected a thin split leather book of mid quality. Nope, this is a heavy grade leather. The stitching is very well done. The pen appears to be leather wrapped. I really like this. I will say it can scuff easily but I find that it greatly adds to the books patenia. I highly recommend it.

This is borderline a perfect solution for my unique problem: how to have a pen and memo book on hand when I already have a phone and wallet to worry about. I love Field Notes. I especially love their Group 11 memobooks for enhancing my memory and just to jot down fun things people say. Carrying a seperate leather cover with just memobooks in it has always been a little awkward, and while I was considering getting something official from FN, I spied this wallet option and I'm glad I did! It's large, but more compact than both my previous wallet option and the memobook. The outer pocket fits my pen pefectly without compromising the wallet's functionality; a rarity with combos like this. There's space for numerous cards and while it can only carry one memo book at a time, really that's all one needs unless one has specialized topics for each book. There is some trouble in paradise but the complaint is fairly minor: this wallet comes with it's own ruled memobook and ballpoint pen. The memobook is fine; it's nothing special but entirely functional in that you can write on it, what more could you expect? The pen however is barely functional. It looks to be gold and have a leather grip: it's cheap plastic, barely holds together when writing, and when it doesn't bother to fall apart in your hand it hardly writes at all. I struggle with terrible ballpoints to begin with but this is frankly pretty ridiculous. I literally would have bought the wallet without the pen and been more satisfied which is sort of incredible and not in a good way. Thankfully the pen pocket fits most pens and I've had no problems providing my own to write with. That said, if you like making notes and want to condense your habit and your wallet down to one unit, this is a fairly well made solution for the price.

I love this wallet. There isn't enough room to take everything, but I don't need everything. Let's face it, all my important information is on a computer, I don't need a card. My driver's license, a debit card and a credit card and a few dollars cash. But what I really love is the notebook and pen. I write comedy and I just can't get the inflection I'm looking for in a text editor like this. No sarcasm font. Update 7/31/23: Still love this wallet! Wallet is well worn and looks great! Only problem is finding a pen that works with the wallet. I've gone with an all metal pen because all the others broke.

It's great quality leather for this good price. It is a little bigger than I wanted. I new it fit the chaiers size but it goes out over the edge a little bit. But I won't give it less of a review, just know it's a little bigger than it might appear. I am able to put it in my back pocket though which is what I was looking for. Could also function as a nice wallet for a few cards and a little cash.

This is a very durable holder for field notes. I appreciate how easily it fits in my purse. It is not as bulky as I expected.

I bought this as a wallet replacement as I carry a pocket notebook and a wallet and wanted to consolidate them. For the basics of that, it works well. The leather work and stitching are of great quality and the concept is a good one. However, I wear a suit most of the time and wanted to carry this in my inside pocket. The design of the leather creates a thick bulge at the crease and doesn't allow the cover to lie flat. For that reason, it is very bulky in my suit jacket and creates a pronounced bulge that is also uncomfortable. Add the pen to it and it barely fits the in the pocket and makes the bulge even worse. I would imagine that this item would be great for people who carry in the back pocket of their jeans, but for suits, it is just too bulky.
