Oh this is a great Raclette set! We bought it because it has 8 melting trays, 4 on each side. Just enough for a nice dinner party! The heating unit works very well, it has a reversible grill, and also comes with scrapers for the melting trays. We bought this together as a family gift and used it for the first time during Christmas.

We love doing gourmet/raclette, especially for New Year's eve. It is fun and safe. The kids love it too. This is a good machine. It has 8 pans but on top it would be a little small if you use it like we do for 8 people. For 4 to 6 people it is perfect.

This grill was a hit at our Christmas party. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Can even go in the dishwasher. It’s good for a group or just two people. It’s good quality.

So much fun and food came out delicious! We tried it for the first time recently, and were pleasantly impressed with how delicious everything was- using just olive oil and butter to cook everything with. We kept it simple and will plan to experiment more with seasonings, but really, it was a great dinner. Enjoy!

back story: i am a swiss native living in the US. raclette is something i grew up with. i visit switzerland often and consider myself up to date with their standards. good to know: raclette ovens have changed since my childhood.no one uses the enameled tins anymore(i remember my mom soaking them, as they were so hard to clean) and most modern ovens have a table-grill option. (i don't really use that, so i can't review that part) the positive: it heats up really fast, does what it should, heats evenly for what it is* and does not transfer heat to the table it sits on. *note, i have never seen a raclette oven with the traditional style heating element like in the above machine heat perfectly evenly throughout. the spaces towards the middle of the oven are always a tad faster. it's normal, actually negligible in this oven compared to others i've used. i have not used the table grill but it gets hot without a doubt. the tins are easy to clean. they could be a little thicker in the handle but it hasn't affected performance, and they're only minimally thinner than the ones i see in switzerland these days. the negative: -it arrived with the heating element dislodged which was an easy fix. also, upon first plugging i noticed smoke and an unpleasant smell caused by paint on the heating element. quality control missed that one i guess. that said, i've had the oven for close to two years and it has been working reliably. what i'd improve/add as an option: -a parking deck for the empty tins while you eat would be awesome. many raclette ovens offer this, but not all. i just give everyone a small plate to park their tins...

This product is great for the price. It is well made and easy go set up and clean. It’s great for a party and family event, lots of fun.

The grill works fine, it heats up fast. If you read the manual it says to heat at max for like 5 min then to lower the heat, i think that is what may be giving people the warpping problem. It is kinda difficult to use with more than 6, unless you have a tiny table to fully fit 8, the position is going to be tight when cooking. The easiest solution is to put a couple of people in charge of the cooking and just passing the food around. The cord is short, so you need an extension, also use a plug just for the grill, just in case. It is great for entertaining, also a nice ice breaker on how it works. The cheese holders work great even when the cheese gets a little extra toasty, it just slides off,they do get hot so just be careful where you grab it. The red gives it a nice touch to the grill, still havent used the other side of the grill, only thing i would say it is missing is a light or something to know if it is on Overall, it does its function great, also gives people cheese nightmares, but whatever, you wouldnt buy it unless you like cheese

I'm a mobility challenged homemaker and preparing company meals had become all but impossible. We were invited to dinner at a friend's home and she served raclette prepared on a device like this. I saw it as the answer to my ability to show hospitality. This particular raclette machine...the aluminium classic... works so well. The top grill heats relatively quickly to a temperature that easily cooks meat and vegetables. It has a knob that controls the temperature. The eight cheese dishes are easy to use and big enough to hold a decent sized piece of cheese. The heated cheese easily pours from the cool handler dishes. We didn't even need to use the spatulas. The griddle was also very easily cleaned. I am so delighted to have found the answer to my entertaining dilemma! It is truly an answer to prayer and my guests loved it too. I can highly recommend the Swissmar Classic and my investigation of reviews...not just on Amazon...proved others agree. You can't go wrong with this one!

Hoy hicimos una cena para 6 y funcionó de maravilla, funciona perfectamente bien, la temperatura se regula fácilmente, se calienta rápido y no es estorbosa en la mesa. Incluye las espátulas de muy buena calidad y me gustó que no se calienta en los laterales o por debajo. Los niños lo disfrutaron muchísimo y podían participar de la fiesta. Las charolas para el queso no se calientan en el mango, se pueden coger fácilmente. Muy Buena compra, nos gusto muchísimo.

Ordered for New Year’s Eve with friends. Great raclette. Non stick surface is very easy to clean with just hot soapy water. Top grill gets very hot and temperature control is very accurate. The broil works very well also.
