Clearing up the confusion
I bought this adapter specifically because of the negative reviews, namely because those who left them don't understand what this part is or what it's supposed to do, as evidenced by their negative reviews. This review is meant to clear up the confusion created by what others have written.1. Yes, the length of the entire adapter is the length of the entire adapter. This goes for every cable ever. A 6-inch USB cable is 6 inches long, including the plugs on either end. Something to keep in mind if you didn't know this (although if the length of this product is an issue for you, then you shouldn't be buying one of these).2. No, it's not going to burn your house down, unless you're using it for something other than what it's designed for, like plugging in fans, LED strips, or anything other than a graphics card 6-pin power connector. If you don't know what this product is for, then you shouldn't be buying it.3. Yes, it only has 3 pins on the Molex side. This is by design. Molex carries both 12V and 5V. PCIe does not use 5V. If you are trying to plug 5V into your graphics card then you are doing it wrong.4. Regarding "loose pins": yeah, all Molex adapters have these. That's because the plug on your power supply is designed to be plugged into a hard drive or other device, not a little plastic adapter with wires sticking out of it. Still, this is not a problem assuming you know how to operate a plug. Just make sure the pins are moderately straight and plug it in.5. China did not ruin your technology. You simply don't have a clue about what you are doing. See #3 above.People who don't know what they're doing shouldn't be opening the case of their computer and screwing with the electrical wiring. Maybe read a pinout and figure out the difference between 5V and 12V before you go complaining about how there's not enough pins on the plug.

do NOT buy this
It says 4 pin but it’s actually only a 3 pin 😭And the freaking wires aren’t secured so they just pop out. Also just look at that other guys review where it started burning. DO NOT BUT THIS 😭🙏

So far it works as advertised to keep my graphics card alive, though I haven't ran anything resource intensive, and even if I did, if I saw hiccups, it would likely be because of the psu. Pay attention that it just has three prongs out of the 4 on the molex side, and hence not all the prongs on the pcie side. If it will burn the house down or melt and I notice, I will find a way to edit this review with pertinent information (if the humanity hasn't destroyed itself and the planet by then).

Plug It In and It Works!
Went simple as pie. Works perfectly. This was the final upgrade (nvidia Quadro 4000) to this computer. Now ready for OS.

Rip off. Did not work
Got thia with one pin missing on both ends. There are 4 wires but 2 are connected to one pin. Therefore this is more of a 3 pin connector. Did not work at all. Also the pins were very flimsy and loose. Maybe i got a bad one but i wouldn't take any chances with this one again.
