My Canopy never moved!
These stakes worked great at the beach! I staked my Canopy in regular sand at the beach and even with the wind, it never moved. These are great quality. Strong plastic and they went deep into the sand, great length. They were easy to put in and easy to take out. Love the bright orange color so I didn't miss any when breaking down the Canopy. Great product!

Stood Up to OBX Wind!
I used these stakes to hold a sunshade in place on Shackleford Banks -- it stayed rock-solid. The wind gusted up to 30 MPH, and there is no barrier between a sunshade or tent and breeze coming in off the Atlantic. The sand is also extremely soft. The stakes installed quickly and felt very substantial. On the advice of some other reviews, I placed two stakes in a "X" on each of the four tie-down points. If I needed to stake a tent with more tie-downs, I would be happy to buy another set of these and repeat the "X" setup. They're absolutely a great value for money.

These work great!
They work great, held my greenhouse in place even during a huge windstorm

Perfect for loose soil
I just put a new tarp over my 12 x 20-foot portable garage and needed a way to keep the tarp from blowing off. The soil around my garage was quite loose and traditional stakes went in too easily with no hold and pulled right out. I ordered these Canopy stakes and what a difference. I could feel them grabbing the soils as I pounded them in and they held perfectly. Very well made, solid and sturdy. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to hols something down in loose or very soft soil.

Perfect stakes.
Love these stakes. I am currently at a beach in South Carolina where the wind blows like crazy. The tent posts that came with the tent pulled out at the first wind storm. I was reluctant to the buy these as they seem so cheap and looked like they would pull out easily (after all, I am putting these tents into sand) after reading the reviews i decided to buy them. I am so glad I did. They were so easy to use, they are easy to remove and the value is incredible. They anchor great and I’ve never had a steak pull out. I don’t know whether you would call them thick, but you don’t want them to be bigger than they are. And they are thicker than they need be and the length is perfect. These pictures were taken at dark, but I think you can see them. I put the first one through the mat into the sand, and the rest are directly in the sand

Worked Great!
I'm really not sure at all what sort of bizarre, twisted thought came to my mind to make me want to tent camp on the Texas coast in the spring, but there you go. The wind was so bad that I had to tie everything to everything else - my tent to my truck, my canopy to my truck, my canopy to my tent, myself to the ground - no, really, it was bad. But one thing that impressed my socks off?...these sand screws stayed put. ALL my other stakes (for the shade canopy, the tent, the rain fly) all moved in the sand and had to be hammered back down several times a day. These sand screws stayed put the whole time and I never had to adjust them. Always good to find a product that does exactly what it's supposed to.

Works great in soft ground.
I still use the light stakes to lay out the tent but use these stakes for the tie down ropes when I'm camping in areas with soft soil. I haven't had them pull out or pull sideways through the ground like the standard tent stakes do. They also hold the tent vestibule out much better too.

Good but don't hold tent down in wind gusts over 15 mph
We used these stakes while camping on Assateague Island. For the most part, they did a good job but on the morning we were leaving, we were awoken to the back of our tent flying up. Wind gusts were around 12-15 mph and these stakes couldn't handle that. Compared to the wider, angled metal stakes that we were also using, these plastic ones were not as good. If you're going somewhere without much wind, you'll be fine using these but I personally wouldn't buy more.
