DK are the best travel books out there to organize your visits.
The DK guides are the best out there! The Eyewitness travel guides are comprehensive guides that provide everything to see in a location. While comprehensive, the books gives just the right amount of information to drive interest in the particular sights you want to see. They are rrganized intelligently for the traveler, and they always provides a map. I wouldn't travel without them. Also, I highly recommend the DK Top 10 series which is more than enough for a quick 1 or 2 day stop through. We wil be going through about 15 cities this fall, and the DK Top 10 series help you quickly choose where to go.

Best Travel Guide to Purchse Before Going
Love DK books, they have everything you need to learn about the city you plan to visit. Starting with history, highlights, what to see, where to go, where to stay and where to eat. DK also gives you different touring options from a ninety minute walking tour to a 36 hour itinerary. If staying long enough they even give you plans for daytrips. The best part are the color photos of thecity andart

Good To Prep for A Trip - Less Useful Once There
I found the DK guidebook on Vienna useful for getting ready for my recent trip. It has much information on the key attractions and the sections of the city. Since I had never been to Vienna it helped me familiarize myself with the city before arrival and was valuable in prioritizing where I wanted to spend my time. The drawback is the restaurant information is somewhat inaccurate. My best meals in Vienna were in places not mentioned or featured in this book. The places the book did recommend were in a few instances quite disappointing. I have found this to be true for several other DK guidebooks that I've used. My advice is if you want a book that will whet your appetite for a destination such as Vienna then this is a good choice for reading before you go. Once on the ground it is less useful and rather bulky to carry. Maps were decent but there are one page walking maps available at any major hotel.

Beautiful book
Gave it to my daughter & her husband who went to Vienna. Seems she had similar books. And he hated Vienna. Too bad, my ancestry is Austro-Hungary. Wish I could go!! Beautiful book, I looked at the whole thing ... should have kept it!

Too Heavy!
WAY to heavy! Why in the world would you publish a travel book that weighs about 2 pounds? Everyone who travels tries to make sure that everything they carry is light-weight. There is no way I would carry a book this heavy in my purse.

DK Eyewitness never disappoints
DK Eyewitness continues its mark as the premium travel guide, rich in color isometric (3-D-like) views of important streets and buildings, suggested itinerary for N-day visits, good culture venue & restaurant reviews. i wish there was an e-book version. always worth la money.

A bit too heavy
Lots of information with lots of photos. The only issue I have with it is that its fairly heavy and adds a bit too much weight to everything else you got to carry in your backpack while exploring the city.
