A very good value with great functionality for GM cars
I bought the GM version of this scanner to auto-bleed the ABS brake system in my 2009 Chevy Suburban after the master brake cylinder ran dry during a caliper replacement. You need a scan tool to do this. The unit performed this function perfectly, and brakes are now firm and performing well. Note, you need a lot of brake fluid on hand for this procedure as it almost drains the brake reservoir after you do each wheel. The other GM propitiatory scan functions seem to work well and it auto recognized my car with the Smart VIN, and was able to locate and scan all of the modules and translate the codes. The screen is small but functional and for the price it's hard to beat for the features it provides.I had read previous reviews, that mentioned that you need to update the firmware to the latest revision to get the unit to function properly. That was the first thing I did when unboxing it. You do this by removing a memory chip from the unit and using the provided USB chip interface, plug this into a Windows computer, install the Foxwell update software from their website, and then run the program to update the memory chip. You then place the unit back in the scanner.

Purchased NT530 GM for my 2018 Impala
I previously purchased a different Foxwell OBD2 scanner last year but it did not have bi directional options available that I needed. Purchased NT530 GM version and it allowed me to operate my High Pressure Fuel Pump and adjust/lower fuel pressure which allowed me to diagnose a fuel issue (according to the OBD2 codes). Turned out the codes that popped up (HPFP regulator voltage low) that put my 2018 Impala LT 3.6L into reduced engine power or better known as limp mode turned out to be the defective Body Control Module. Kinda hard to diagnose a fuel issue when the computer is lying to you and the problem was the computer itself. Got a new BCM programmed it and the car is running perfectly. Without knowing the fuel pressure of various fuel pressure sensors, rail fuel pressure, and testing the HPFP via bi directional capability of NT530 I would have replaced the wrong part and very expensive part. It's not a dealer tech 2 but it definitely worth the money with what it can do. Note that this scanner does not have the capability of programming a BCM. So if you are somewhat tech savvy using the NT530 (your car manufacturer version), some googling, and a multimeter you should be able to pinpoint what the issue is with your car. Best of luck.

Tech2 DIY clone replacement
This scanner is amazing. It not only does the normal check engine scan, typical diagnostic trouble codes, it has a second menu with GM specific functions. This unit has the bidirectional test functions. It can reset the oil life sensor. It told me that the drivers side seat module for the heater has failed. It has the evap/purge seal function, you can command the purge valve up or down, while the evap can is closed and monitor the fuel tank and vacuum pressures real time. This scanned commands start and stop the rear air compressor for the air-ride. It tells you the data from all four wheel position sensors, as well as it diagnosed a solenoid problem on my right front shock. I was able to order the connector from Amazon for under $10 and restore proper function. The scanner can turn on or off the HVAC compressor. It has the crankshaft relearn, fuel trim reset, HVAC recalibration, You can read out the air door position/ blend door command and actual. If you have read this far and want a TECH 2 clone that works right out of the box.... THIS IS IT. It can graph oxygen sensor data, it can graph several other data. It has the injector test, balance piston test. It has more than I can write into this block. I believe that this is basically the tech 2 clone from China built into a functional scanner without the hassle of trying to crack the TIS program. If you want a Tech 2 for under $200 then this is the one. BUY THIS ONE!!!! its simply amazing.

Silverado 5.3 fuel composition reset
For now it's five stars. Although it's a little slow loading some screens.Bought it to reset fuel composition on a 2006 Silverado 5.3 FFV. Which it will do through the special functions with the vehicle running.Paid for itself already and I like that it came loaded with the software, registered and ready to use out of the box! I can use it on my other GM truck and add my wife's Jeep later.

WILL NOT WORK ON DIESEL LAND ROVER DISCOVERY L462
The description states that this will work on all models but it DOES NOT work on the new Land Rover Discovery Diesel. Contacted support heard nothing back. Read on a Land Rover forum that the firmware was going to be updated, that was months ago. The interface is clunky, programmed in China crap. May work OK for gas powered JLR vehicles but if you have the new Discovery diesel THIS DOES NOT WORK. Still not working December 2021. Bought the AUTEL 808 and it works great.
