Best option we could find
We have an autistic grand daughter that needed training wheels for a Barbie series bike we bought her. I did my research and realized that there are many cheap no name options and most have questionable reviews. I grew up with Schwinn products and have always had great experiences. So, I ordered this kit. It took some work to get everything to fit correctly but that was not the fault of this kit. I would liked to have seen an instruction pamphlet included so I knew exactly where each nut, bolt and washer went. I had to wing it but wasn’t to terrible because I used to assemble bikes in my younger years. The only potential issue I can see anyone having with this kit is if there rear wheel studs don’t have enough bolt thread sticking out to catch. Ours barely did on the left side. Again, that isn’t the fault of this kit. Those side support brackets that come with this kit are very important to keep the training wheel from slipping out of position. Will update if we have any issues.

Very Poor Design
I will not repeat what others have said about how difficult to install these are, and how they easily fall apart and need constant adjustment, but will agree. Here is why: Putting the brackets on the bike is pretty standard. It does not come with tools, so be sure you have those listed before you buy. However, the method to attach the wheels is absolutely terrible. You have to first run a long screw through the wheel and put a nut on the other side to secure the wheel to the screw. You then run the screw through the bracket and secure with a nylon insert lock. If you're not familiar, these will only screw on to a certain length then stop. Well, guess what? Once you have put this on, there is a lot of space on the screw between the wheel and the brace, with only one nut inside. This means either the wheel is loose or the connection to the brace is loose. You don't want either of these to be loose! So either find some more hardware (another nut, some washers, whatever you have) or accept that your kid is going to be riding around on wobbly wheels, which unsurprisingly is going to wear them down much faster...the other big complaint I and others have. These things are flawed, cheap, difficult to install, and generally more trouble than they're worth since they don't do a good job of keeping the bike upright anyway. Don't waste your money or time.

Training wheels
These training wheels are very easy to apply and seem to work well with my child's bike. Just be aware that kids that ride the bike often or turn hard, seem to wear the wheels down quickly.

Need Training Wheels - You found them!
My little guy needed new training wheels. We found these. They're incredible! At first, it was the price that caught our attention, a great deal compared to some other training wheels (that aren't as nice), but then we took a closer look. These wheels are like little monster truck wheels! (Granted the title should have tipped me off, but in my defense I was just looking for 'training wheels'.) My son flipped when he saw them! (Daddy, too.) He (my son... with his dad) met the mailman every day at the mailbox asking if his wheels had arrived yet, he's an impatient little monkey, so when they did arrive, the mailguy delivered his package to our door with a huge grin on his face telling him that his wheels had arrived! (It only took a couple days, but like I mentioned, he's impatient.) He ripped open the package and immediately helped his dad put them on and quickly showed off his new monster truck wheels to everyone who would look his way! They are very solid. Nice and thick, and so much nicer then the usual training wheels. By being bigger and bulkier, they actually add to stability. They're easy to put on, easy to take off, easy to adjust, and came with all the hardware needed. For your little monster truck fan, these are the wheels for you!

Might need modification
My 6 year old son has Asperger's Syndrome making it difficult to learn activities that require coordination such as riding a bike. He has really struggled for a couple years so we decided to get these for his 20" bike. They seemed well enough made to withstand the use they would get but I had to modify them to get them onto the studs on the bike. They were alittle too beefy and there just wasn't enough threads left to put the nut on once they were in place. After shaving some of the excess material off with a grinder, they went on just fine. The problem then is that they were no longer strong enough to hold my sons weight. After about 15 minutes or so of riding, one of them bent. I will have to reinforce both in order to use them. I realize this isn't the fault of Schwinn but I wish they had been a little more "universal" to begin with. 3 stars for having to modify them.

Schwinn Training Wheels
Worked great and fit on an 18" Schwinn bicycle. Adjustable to fit up to 20". Instructions are vague with regards to sizing but easy to figure out.

Well made, fits 20in BMX bike
I rarely leave reviews but after reading feedback on competitor's products I thought it would be worth leaving a few positive words about these training wheels. My 2 kids outgrew their 16 in bikes and are still learning to balance, finding a set of trainers that fit a 20 in bike was my top priority. These trainers are made of strong metal, I'm not concerned they will bend (unlike comments left on other products). Installation was not overly difficult, though I do recommend using a socket driver or an appropriately size crescent wrench held sideways to hold the bolt when tightening the lock nut as a screwdriver likely to strip the bolt or not provide enough torque to tighten the lock nut.
