Now my little dog with kidney disease can have yummy treats too!
These treats are safe for my doggie with kidney disease. He loves them and I can see why. They smell good, not like so many treats that smell old and stale or like chemicals. They’re the consistency of Milkbone so they’re hard but not too dense. I break them in half or thirds for my tiny little guy.

Healthy ingredients without any harmful additives!
I thought treats were out when we were told our old girl had CKD. Looked all over the place and found these to be the best choice after reading all of the ingredients in other similar treats. They have a large and small size. They are crunchy so I wondered if she would like them as well as her old softer chews. She actually prefers them.I don’t leave reviews unless I am really unhappy with something and feel like I might be saving someone from a similar bad experience. I went out of my way to praise these treats. Plus I like that it is a small business. The best endorsement of all is how much Layla loves Mattie’s Treats!

I Am So Thankful these Exist!
The media could not be loaded. When my baby boy was diagnosed with stage 2 ckd, I had to stop giving him everything he loved in life. Ok. That's an exaggeration. But his entire way of eating had to be changed. It was confusing to know what was ok for him to have and what was not. I'd read ten articles and get ten different answers. My little boy, Chewie, was used to getting a greenie bone every night before bed and they were no longer safe. Hard on the pup, and hard on the pups parent! Finally I decided we were going to turn this negative into a big positive. I started cutting up fresh, organic fruit that we would share in bed before going to sleep. He loved it.A friend of mine in London knew Chewie's diagnosis. Knowing how much I love him, she sent us a box of Mattie's treats. They are perfect!! Chewie absolutely LOVES them! These treats are hard, though. Chewie needed me to break them up for him. This was a problem: my hands are getting a little arthritic. I started placing the treat in a small container and adding just enough bottled water to cover it. Just let the treat soak in the water for 5-10 minutes and it softens up just right! You can easily break the treat apart with your hands, and it's much easier for little dogs with smaller mouths and missing teeth to eat! Also, ckd dogs require moisture rich foods, so this is another reason to give it this added hydration. This treat change, along with a food change to Dr Harveys Canine Health, looks like it's helping! Chewie's kidney values (BUN and creatinine) were too high one year ago. Last week we redid the blood work and did a UA. HIS RESULTS ARE NORMAL on BOTH. His appetite is great, he's playful, and I couldn't be more thankful! We are repeat buyers of Mattie's treats and highly recommend them!

So far, so good. She likes them!
My 13-yr old terrier mix was just diagnosed stage 2 kidney failure. Was a shock, of course. Immediately put her on kidney support supplements and on a wet renal diet, which she is gradually getting use to. But felt so sorry for her, as she has always been spoiled with treats and tidbits from our plates. So started looking for kidney-friendly treats. Trying these out now, and so far, it has helped to satisfy her begging for treats. I limit her to 3 per day, since they are dry. But her teeth are good and I think she likes the crunch (especially since no more raw bones for her). So very glad to find these affordable treats!

I bought these for my tea cup yorkie, Gabbana, she had chronic kidney disease. She really liked them and so does my chihuahua, Chanel. My little Gabbana passed away unfortunately almost 2 weeks ago. My little Chanel carries them everywhere now especially outside.Thank you for caring about our little dogs, babies.I highly recommend this product, it serves a great cause and purpose.NurseShawna

Finicky Terrier w Kidney Issues LOVED Them!
Nothing is worse that watching a much loved member of the family (Theo our dog) lose his appetite. Ifg he ate ANYTHING, it was bad for him and I felt like I was hastening his demise. We tried everything! He loved these treats and they were a TREAT for him! Just about the only thing he liked. Thank you for a product that was GOOD for him and made him HAPPY!

Tasty treats, but my dog lost a tooth.
My older dog with kidney disease has lost his appetite, so I decided to try giving him some of these treats for some extra calories. He was drawn to the treats, so I assume they taste great. But I had to discontinue feeding him the treats after he lost a tooth. Breaking these treats apart is pretty difficult to do as well. I strongly suggest considering other treats if you have a smaller dog. These might be okay for bigger ones.

Dog likes them
2nd time purchase. First time was great. This time the product was damaged. The bottom of box was crushed and opened. 40% of the treats were in crumbs. Health:My dog is on a special kidney diet and she likes them. Despite the bummer package would buy again. I would recommend Amazon to ship in a box not a bag.
