Delighted
I am delighted with this tin opener, not only does it work reliably and without fuss, but because it takes the lid off so cleanly. It cuts through the actual crimped edge of the lid, rather than below it, as with similar types of tin openers. The edges really are clean and not at all sharp. Once the lid is removed it can also be placed back on for temporary cover. This isn't just some fancy aesthetic design with no merit and blunt blades, it is genuinely better than all traditional designs. My life is actually enhanced without the usual frustrations of the crappy tin openers that we all have experienced. My only concern is how long it will last! Please someone make these out of stainless steel and with replaceable tool steel cutting blades.

Does Not Match Product Description
In no way can this be correctly stated as "suitable for arthritic hands". It's a lovely design that I find very satisfying, but it's very stiff to use and will hurt your hand if you have arthritis. I'm considering reporting this product as a breach of the Trades Descriptions Act for "failing to match the description".

Best Tin opener I’ve ever used
I love this, it’s really easy to use (with very little effort too) and doesn’t leave a sharp edge either, lid can be used as a make shift lid for the remainder of the tin, (although not tight fitting does the job) and excellent value for money as probably the most reasonably priced opener I’ve bought and actually works really well, have had so many that are rubbish AND don’t last and some for a lot of money, but this one really does work.

Good but not worth the price
It opened a tin nicely and was easy to use but it did struggle a bit on other tins hence the 4 stars

Opens so easily you don't realise it has done it's job
This opener is so smooth and easy, you don't realise it has done its job! Once open a ratchet system stops you trying to continue to open the tin. The only downside is reliseing the now cut out lid, but I have found if you squeeze the top of the can 's sides gently together the lid just pops out. For animal and bird lovers the cut edges are smoothed down leaving no sharp edges for them to cut themselves when tins are discarded at the dump. A very good and safe buy once you have had a little familiarisation with the opener, very easy on the hands!

Good idea, poorly executed.
No good for left hander's.So no good for my wife! Cuts a sort of lid, which can be used to cap the open tin. works well on soft thin tins. Useless and potentially dangerous on thicker tins or different rolled seal. (I badly gashed my hand on the Fray Bentos tin, and had to go back to my usual tin opener in order to open these.)when you wind the turn key it locks on.

Best tin opener I've ever used - clean and safe
When you first get one of these you might be a little unsure how to use it because of what, to me at least, is it's unconventional design. But once you get the hang of starting off, you'll find it gives a nice smooth motion and results in a very clean opening with no sharp edges, either on the can or on the lid. Far superior to the MagiCan opener that makes a right mess of the label around the tin and leaves a horribly sharp edge on the can. Can't comment on suitability for arthritic/weak-wristed users as I am neither, but I certainly wouldn't class it as hard work. Can't see me ever buying another type of opener again. These are excellent.

Didn't work correctly!
It would have been useful to have the instructions in the box or on the cover. I tried to use it to open a can of Sainsbury's ravioli. I had to go around the can about 5 times and the lid was still in place. I had to use a kitchen knife to lever the lid free! The 'opener' had cut the lid but it wasn't 'free'. If I had tried to use my fingers to lift the lid off I would have ended up with cut fingers. Very disappointed as advertised for use for arthritis sufferers. :(
