Planet Bike Comfort Cork Handlebar Tape Set (Orange)

I put this tape on my gravel bike back in February (4 months ago) so I don't have a good long-term review. My bike is light blue with orange trim so I went with the orange tape. From a comfort standpoint, it's great. Short of having some kind of gel inserts underneath the tape, I don't think it could much more plush. The tape takes a lot of the sting out of typical gravel riding.Thus far, the color has held up pretty nicely, although it does stain pretty easily, but that's not the fault of the tape, it's simply the nature of the color.It installed pretty easily, the only issue (if you want to call it that) is poking the bar end into the bar with the thick tape. Considering the thickness of the tape, it's a little more challenging than normal tape. Speaking of bar-ends, they come with the nice ones with the expanding bolts.So in short, really cushy, and (so far) durable. I recommend.

This orange wrap worked amazingly well for wrapping the crumbling foam grip bar on my lawnmower. The repair not only looks good, as the orange matches the Black and Decker orange almost precisely, it also made the bar more comfortable to grip! I hardly feel the vibration of the electric mower through it, and the slight increase in diameter makes gripping the bar easier for my admittedly large hands.It only took one of the two rolls for the job, and I was pleasantly surprised by that. I used the other roll to wrap the handle and part of the bar on a Radio Flyer All Terrain wagon. The bar was simply bare metal with no padding, and, again, the gel wrap made it far more comfortable.My bike is due for a wrap, so I'm definitely going to use this product there as well.Nothing is absolutely perfect, and I wish Amazon had a ten point scale. I would take off half a star for the poor grip of the very short black tape pieces included in the kit. They didn't hold for very long, and I immediately used some black Gorilla brand tape to finish the job that they were incapable of doing. Four stars would not reflect the overall quality of the product, ease of use, and final result. So I have to round the 4.5 up to 5.

I bought the two tapes, one orange and one brown, for my girlfriend and my bikes. First the orange was an awesome vibrant color and both tapes had a great squishy feel to them when they were on the handlebar. I put the tape on both bikes by myself with very light research online on how to do it and the bar tape looks great! The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is that the strips of electrical tape they provide to hold the ends of the bar tape down are not very long or sticky so I had to put a drop of superglue on the end of each, but that worked great so no other complaints.

Was definitely easy to use

So I have an old, blue road bike that needed some touching up and this tape was just the right thing. Not only does my bike have some awesome-looking orange bar tape, it's super comfortable, too. The cork is really worth it. I bike just about everywhere and although I'm not an extreme cycling guru, I have to say that I like this tape a lot. Also, it's really easy to wrap with, too. It was my first time wrapping my bars and I found it simple and the finished product looks great. I recommend it.

I'm new to biking. I found an old nishiki olympic road bike in my grandma's garage. I fixed it up and wrapped the bars with this tape. I've never done it before, but this came out great. You are able to unwind the tape if you make a mistake, so don't worry if you're nervous about doing a perfect job the first time.

I have had this tape almost a year now and it has held up well, it has gotten various cuts and rips from use and has gotten quite dirty from exposure and picking up bits of dirt from my hands (be careful not to touch it while working on your bike chain/tires/frame unless you don't care about how clean it stays). When brand new it looked awesome and now it is utilitarian. I did not use the plugs for the end of the handle, I just threw them away and it was not an issue. The electric tape that it came with did not really do the job so I used ductape and that has held up pretty well.

Disclaimer: considering that the last time the bar tape had been replaced on my bike was...never and it was purchased in the 80s, I felt justified in spending a total of 3 hours re-taping my bars. 2 hours on the first side, 1 hour on the next.They look perfect now.This tape is supremely comfy and the extra padding is wonderful. The instructions are so user-friendly and intuitive I'm surprised this isn't an Apple product. They remind you to keep stretching the tape exactly when I was starting to slack off.Basically, I'm a little bit in love with Planet Bike because of this EXCELLENT product and their user-friendly branding.I recommend this tape so highly!
