Great speedlite mount with a minor tweak
This pretty much does what it says it does. My only criticism is that the nut that you screw the lightstand bolt into (to attach it to a lightstand) was loose and made the the head feel wobbly when it was attached to the lightstand. I used superglue to glue the bolt in place and to securely attach the lightstand bolt. It now feels much sturdier. All in all this is a great way to use speedlites to illuminate larger flash modifiers.

Functional w/ some caveats...
Bottom line: Especially for the price, you're going to be hard-pressed to find a better product. Being sure to hold your nose while you do so, go ahead and make the purchase knowing that ultimately, you're getting functionality and value for your dollar.I've got the original LastoLite TriFlash bracket, which lacks any kind of locking hardware at the cold shoes - meaning that if I'm using it with my FlashZebra cable, I have to tape it together lest the cable fall out of the cold shoe. I purchased this Triple Threat hoping to replace the LastoLite bracket, and I think that for the most part, this was a successful endeavor...By comparison to competing products of similar or better quality and design, this is a well-priced product.Westcott's product here is solid and well-built; it's not going to fall apart any time soon, and I absolutely cannot complain about quality. The locking hardware works well and it holds my flashes securely without having to resort to tape. The evenly spaced cold shoes make it easy to fill a light box with evenly distributed flash, and I get better and more consistent results when using this over the TriFlash. That all said, this has some design flaws you'll need to work around if you pop for this thing.First, if you watch the Westcott promotional video, you're supposed to be able to mount this thing directly on your umbrella shaft, and that *does* work - up to a point.- If you don't populate all 3 cold shoes or if you use flash guns of varying weight (e.g., my 580EX II guns are significantly heavier than my 430EX II guns), no matter how tightly you screw things down, the Triple Threat is going to want to rotate so that the heavy side is down. Situationally, this might be fine - but it bothers me enough that I refuse to mount this to the shaft for this reason alone.- 3 x 580EX II is a LOT of weight to be putting on an umbrella shaft. Even butted up against the umbrella swivel, I see noticeable bowing on the shaft when I have flashes in all 3 shoes.Second, if you mount this thing directly to a swivel, you'll need to use an extra long spigot or chain several spigots together in order to distance the Triple Threat from your swivel's hardware. If you don't, the swivel's hardware will occupy the space where a flash would otherwise go, effectively turning this into a 2-flash or (depending on your swivel) a 1-flash bracket. Finally, even if you crank down on this thing, and especially if you're using different weight flash guns and you get the heavy gun in the wrong cold shoe, it will want to twist loose. Be sure to make sure you're using evenly weight flash guns, or - just like with other stand components and light gear - be sure to get things oriented so that gravity's pull *tightens* your connections.I find myself using a couple chained spigots to mount this thing to a swivel, and then I mount my umbrella or softbox to the Triple Threat rather than the swivel. YMMV

Very cleverly thought up.
The usability of this product is quite high. You have two different ways to mount this with your umbrella - 1) On a stand, using either the 1/8" or ¼" studs, mounting the umbrella through the product, or 2) mounting the triple threat on the umbrella shaft and then mounting the umbrella to your stand. With three flashes going at once, you can then really vary the amount of light. As several videos on youtube have shown, you can angle the flashheads 45° allowing you to wash light over a larger area on the umbrella material providing more even distribution of light. Used with the Westcott 4631D Parabolic White Diffusion Front (White) this way, your subject will be illuminated very softly and evenly, thanks to the clever design of using three flashes on this aptly named Triple Threat. The quality construction of this device is really good. It is plastic, but feels somewhat rugged and solid; whereas the three cold-shoes are made of high-quality aluminum and painted black, and seem properly mounted on this thing. It's quality construction worthy of the name Westcott. It is fairly light, doesn't take up much space in your gear bag/box, and is well worth the price. Also, it is very simple to use.

Plastic body is wobbly
I bought two of these and one is fine but the other has integrity issues. The place where the stand adapter threads in has become loose an the flash head is wobbly. I've used this only 4 times and never with more than 2 speedlites and a 42" umbrella. I expect better quality from Westcott.

... 7' Photoflex umbrellas and its been on of the best purchases I've done
I bought one to use inside one of my 7' Photoflex umbrellas and its been on of the best purchases I've done. The mount is strong, it holds 3 YN-560-III securely and because you have the option of mounting it in the shaft of your modifier you can focus the light!!!! modifier coverage of light is spectacular. the ring of light that you can create with 3 speedlight inside a 7 foot umbrella is simply stunning. BIG, Beautiful,Bounced uniform ring of light at 24mm zoom, it will give you a quality of light that rivals the studio strobes.... and you are fully portable, no wires!

Great idea, but built poorly.
It looks well built but after just one slow, gentle fall (umbrellas fall a lot, but at least they can slow the fall too!) one of the three cold shoe mounts has bent out of shape slightly, which leads me to question the strength of the product entirely. I may try the Lastolite triple flash bracket as apparently it's all metal. The outer casing on this one is plastic, and I can't see what the inner construction is like. I am also not a fan of the 1/4" thread to attach it to a bracket or stand - it itself has some free wiggle movement, and I wouldn't be surprised if it one day fell out entirely.I regret buying it. It may be a bit cheaper than alternatives but I'd imagine they're better built and ultimately this one doesn't seem to be. It isn't as cheap as it feels, either - I thought it would be an ideal compromise between utmost quality and price but it falls short.

low build quality
Low build quality, often falls apart in my case, leaving screws and springs all over the place. Overpriced too.

Triple the light, triple the power, triple the results
Simple, compact and sturdy bracket that lets you add more flashes for more light or to use lower settings for faster recycling times.
