AWESOME COAT! DO SIZE DOWN...
Super cozy and ultra plush! But very bulky, so not packable for traveling. Also would not fit under most coats. SIZING RUNS VERY LARGE. I always size down one for Mountain Mama tops but sized down two sizes for the poncho and am glad I did. I am a curvy US size 8/10, usually wear women's medium or junior's large, but the XS in this fits just right, as shown on the mannequin. Maybe it is just because I am short (5'3"). Someone taller might only size down one size, but I am really glad I sized down two sizes and went with the XS.The poncho is the same fabric and thickness as the Mountain Mama Fairview Wrap Jacket, if you are familiar with that, but without the cumbersome sleeves. Both jackets are too warm for me while pregnant but are ideal for wearing as outerwear when NOT pregnant. While I liked the Fairview Jacket for postpartum as a babywearing coat over a carrier, now that my youngest is nearly 2 years old, I prefer this poncho style over the wrap. It is bulky for breastfeeding, if only the neckline was deeper to allow nursing from the top rather than having to pull up to breastfeed! Also I wish it had a button closure at the neck, like the Fairview Wrap to keep cold air out. But neither con keeps me from wearing it everyday fall and winter when the temps hover around or below freezing.I wear this over my Clouds Rest Crossover Baselayer Top from Mountain Mama for lounging around in the winter or staying warm outdoors. It is just what I needed to bundle up for school drop offs/pick ups for my older children. No zippers to deal with, quick and easy to pop-over what you are already wearing and works for breastfeeding. It is also ideal to wear while carrying my toddler in a backpack carrier; the opening on the hem at each side makes it easy to buckle the waist of the carrier underneath the poncho, disguising any belly chub. Only time I take it off during the day is for housework, as the loose billowy fit tends to get in the way.Oatmeal color is nice, just as pictured. Here are some more photos of the charcoal poncho as another example of the fit. First photo is on a "pregnant" belly, the others are on a non-pregnant mannequin.
