Haier HPN10XHM Heating Portable Air Conditioner, 10000 BTU/9000 BTU

Using 2 of these units in heat mode, quieter than the HPN12xhm which I've used for both heating and cooling for a couple of years, one unit is more than adequate for a 400 square foot room that is well insulated with a 10 foot ceiling, units do need drainage in heat mode. When the relative humidity drops below 30%, water output will usually stops. If I don't leave the bedroom door open unit will pull cool air in thru floor air ducts. Since the ducts run under a cement slab it is basically pulling in 50 degree air and heating it to room temperature, cold air is vented outside thru window adapter, this is a single hose unit, so it needs a source of air to enter the room as it is venting cold air outside. My experience with these units has been that drainage is only rarely needed in cooling mode. Noise level is similar to a 16 inch fan on low, I only run my units at the lowest fan setting which moves plenty of air to heat or cool rooms

Seems to take quite a while to heat up to the desired temperature. I've been running it for nearly 6 hours and it has only raised temp by 10 degrees. Otherwise it is a nice unit just not quite decided on how I feel about it yet. I will update review if something changes.

This is a great machine! Cools in the summer, heats in winter. Had it 2 years, no problems at all. If you buy it, you'll be glad you did.
