We LOVE!
My husband got a new truck and was contemplating having a company put on the truck bed. It was going to cost a LOT of money, and our brother in law said he ordered this one. The install took about 15 minutes (a lot of the challenge was the weight of it, so it definitely needed the 2 men to install - a 3rd was used for “helping”, but that was not totally necessary unless you asked them). It is very durable and easy to open/close. I am 5 ft tall, but I have no problem opening and closing it on my husband’s f-150. It’s really strong as it was put to the test when my 2 year old used it as a stage. We didn’t have any issues with it denting or cracking. It comes off very easily if needed. We have traveled quite a bit with and and have gone to the grocery store during a rainy Houston day. It’s not 100% waterproof, but it’s good enough for sure. We make sure that our luggage is weatherproof, so that is not at all an issue. We’ve just seen a little bit of water seep through, but I wouldn’t even call it an issue. Would definitely recommend this if you don’t want to pay someone else an arm and a leg to do it for you!

Perfect fit and easy to install
I had been looking for a tri-fold tonneau for a long time. When I spotted this one for half the price, I was skeptical. When it arrived, I immediately noticed the build quality. It only took me 45 minutes to install and it fits like a glove. I drove it through a car wash yesterday and when I opened up the tailgate, there wasn't a single drop of water in the bed. I am sure it would leak some in the right conditions, but didn't first time in a car wash. I really like the fact that it is much more secure than a soft top. Great tonneau cover for the price!

Great Cover...for a while
Great cover for about 4 years then it falls apart. The weak spot are the panel seals (where the pannels fold). They eventually rip and fall apart. Real Truck won't stand by their product or offer the replacement seals so you can repair it. Don't give them your money. Find something better.

Better use rail clamps correctly!!!
Better use wedge shaped rail clamps correctly!!! I love the way this cover operates, but definitely NOT AT FIRST!! The one main ingredient to get the rails for my RAM truck to work correctly is to SEAT the wedge shaped clamps into the grove of the rails with the same wedge shape "first". This gets them at 90 degrees(flat across top of bed). They will snap into place but you have to push hard to get it to seat you can't just lay it up in the grooved area of the rail. If you don't seat that clamp properly you will as I did spend 2 and a half hours trying to figure out the problem!! This critical part of information is a part you will NOT get from reading your instructions "THEY" just left it totally out. I actually found this fact out by watching a video on "REAL TRUCKS" as they install the very same rails on a FORD Super Duty truck. That person made sure that you knew it was needed to snap the clamps into place for proper alignment. I went out to my cover and redid all my clamps also making sure I used the top groove (not bottom groove on the clamp) making sure they were seated properly and retightened my clamps. What an incredible relief as they all lined up perfectly and all sections snapped perfectly into place securely!!! Be forewarned if you have similar brackets to the ones for a 2019 RAM truck please snap in your rail clamps or your rails will never lay at 90 degrees. After doing the rail clamps correctly then my cover actually installed as easily as they make it look on their video, but NOT before that was corrected! Only gave 4 stars as they should not forget this very important installation tip ( 2 and a half hours wasted trying to figure this point out). I do believe the cover is very well made though and does look very sharp with it's low profile!

Quality Product at a Great Price
I purchased the Gator EFX for a 2020 Ram 1500 with a 5’7” bed. I had been shopping for some time and has my eye on this particular model so when it went on sale I jumped on it. I was pleased when it arrived with a giant “Made in the USA” printed on the box. Installation was very easy and I completed it myself. Some may find it helpful to have a second person assist to lift the cover onto the truck bed and position after the rails are installed. I read the instructions provided and watched the videos on the web site to ensure it was installed properly. It fit perfectly, it functions as it should, and it looks great. We have had a couple of hard rains since it was installed and I have not found any water in the bed so it seems to be well sealed. This is a quality product for a great price. I highly recommend it.

Clean Look and Easy Installation.
I bought this cover as a second chance item so it was a bargain price. That being said it was missing a pieces of hardware but the manufacturer send me more than enough replacements items to have extras. The pictures say everything. Very cool look and the rear gasket butts up against the tailgate well. Took it through the car wash a bunch and very little water, if any, was noticeable. I like that you can really tell where this cover comes out of the canister too. Installation was a breeze as I did it myself in less than an hour. Three main pieces and hardware. The canister is easy to mounts and has two drain holes with tubes to make sure it stays dry. The online video was very helpful. Something to note: if you buy this through Amazon, gator does not/can not assist you for missing items. They redirect you to call Amazon. I was a little more persistent and got the number of the real maker of this who was retrax? They were super helpful.

The Truth
I’d give a 4.5 star only because it doesn’t fold up to the rear cabin window like others. But other than that.

Gator quad fold on 2019 Dodge Ram Laramie Crew Cab 5’7” bed width & factory drop in liner
I chose the Gator quad fold to gain more access to the bed if necessary. My application is on a 2019 Dodge Ram Laramie with factory drop in liner and tailgate liner. Crew cab with 5’7” bed. Initial install went well and is very doable if your handy. Afterward I noticed that I could barely get 1 of the 3 rear seals to touch the factory trim at the top of the tailgate. Not enough to keep out the elements. Couldn’t figure out why which led to many adjustments and head scratching. Finally figured it out. The MOPAR factory drop in liner has a fairly thick tailgate cover. It’s particularly thick at the top. The most rearward catches on the cover are very close to the triple rear seal. As a result the cover couldn’t be moved back far enough to properly seal onto the top factory trim of the tailgate. The brackets for the rear latch hit the plastic top edge of the Inside tailgate cover. I guess I could remove the tailgate liner, but chose not to do so. I spent a great deal of time grinding down 6 inches of plastic material on each side of the tailgate liner to give the rear latch brackets room to come toward the rear. Still can only get 2 of the 3 ribs of seal onto factory trip piece at top of tailgate. Ran thru a car wash and still a lot of water got in. This is my wife’s truck. She is an equestrian and stores a lot of stuff that shouldn’t get wet. It appears I will have to remove the factory inner tailgate liner and find something thinner. However the further back you move the cover, the less overlap you have on the forward seal near the cab. The folded down cover could stand to be 1/2 to 1 inch longer to not sacrifice forward seal for rear seal. I am now finding it stays pretty dry in driving rain but leaks quite a bit in a touch less car wash than the one on my old pickup. It looks good and seems durable. Overall though I am disappointed with its weather proofness and that it doesn’t fit/seal well at the tailgate if you have a factory drop in liner. Wish I could have gotten some vendor support, but couldn’t get any help. I will remove the factory tailgate liner, readjust everything and see if it seals properly at the rear. If it does I will modify my review and give another star. In the meantime buyer beware if you are using this cover with a factory MOPAR drop in liner.
