Valvoline - VV986 Moly-Fortified Gray Full Synthetic Grease 1 LB

I bought this for my 2015 Lexus GX 460 after dealing with the notorious 'driveline clunk' when coming to a stop. I performed a full flush on all 6 zerk fittings (spider joints and slip yokes), pumping until the old red grease was completely displaced by this gray Moly-fortified synthetic. The difference was immediate. The 'thump' I felt at stoplights is 100% gone. The Moly provides that extra layer of pressure protection that standard lithium grease lacks. Used this on the rear axle on my 2003 Anniversary Harley Road King Classic. Very slickery and tacky. Easy to apply, but you will get it on your hands, then your pants, face, etc. This can should last the rest of my life.

Worked well in the grease gun we bought here on Amazon. Have read many positive reviews on the product and look forward to it protecting the wheel bearings in our toy hauler. Did not leave any in the gun due to reading about it potentially separating and leaking over time. One star taken off due to very dark gray color, which makes it difficult to distinguish when the old grease has been expelled and the new grease is fully packed in to the wheel bearings/hub while spinning the wheel and pumping grease in. Would consider a different product with a distinguishable color after using this product, but still having faith in the synthetic formula.

Seriously, this grease is fantastic. It's made for professional use, and let me tell you, it does everything Valvoline says it will do. My 3.5 ton hydraulic floor jack was in need of serious maintenance, so I put this grease to good use. After I wire wheeled all the surface rust in the caster wheels on my jack, I dismantled and cleaned the ball bearing wheel assemblies. I then applied a thick coating of this grease onto the wheels and all pivot points on the jack. My jack is 10 years old and it now feels like I just bought it yesterday. I bought the 1lb tub and it's very good value for the money. Valvoline makes really good automotive products, and this grease is second to none. I have been working on cars for over 10 years and this is the only automotive wheel bearing grease I will buy. It's full synthetic, and fortified with Moly, so it really helps with high pressure and heavy load applications. I would give this product 10 stars if I could.

I no longer have space or patience to keep several greases for diverse purposes. Specialist stuff like rubber grease, sure. This moly grease does high temperature bearing, so several levels of forgiveness/performance. Yes, some find it rubbery, but in use, it works great and covers many service types. Its also the single grease I carry in a small container in my emergency kit in the car. Over 240,000km on front bearings on a 2 ton car, so tested in the school of hard knocks.

I found the texture to be not good and is dry as an old grease. Over rated.

Excellent product for harsh HD applications, where the molybdenum disulphide added is a huge benefit to reduce wear under high load. Very hard to find Valvoline products in the UK but they are very high quality and worth the price and hunt.
