D’Addario Woodwinds Grand Concert Select Thick Blank Bb Clarinet Reeds, Filed, Strength 2.0, 10-pack

I've picked up the clarinet several months ago and I've played Saxophone for 13 years. These reeds are great! Coupled with a B45 mouthpiece, these reeds offer great response and tone right out of the box! I was a bit worried about getting the "Thick Blank" style, but I like them more than my regular Grand Concert Selects on Alto Saxophone - I wish they offered a thick blank for Alto Sax!If you're looking for a no hassle reed that will emphasize your tone without having to work the reed. They just play. These reeds are a good buy!

These reeds work for me, I use a Vandoren V13 Profile 88, Rovner ligature, Leblanc Bliss LB320 clarinet.They have great responsiveness in the altissimo range and still offer flex for vibrato.And the best part is that they all work. 10/10 are great out of the box, no sanding or adjustment necessary. Great price too.Highly recommended.

Rico has always provided good clarinet reeds

I am a professional clarinetist in the southern Virginia area and strongly recommend these reeds for consistency and immediate usage out of the box. I would not recommend them for heavy usage such as constant marching band practice. But, have a box or two ready and you will always be prepared with a solid performance reed.

Rico's Grand Concert Select Thick Blank clarinet reeds are pretty consistent, reed to reed and box to box. One of the challenges to clarinetists today is that a huge variety of companies offer a multitude of reed choices. These are worth a try, both for professionals and advancing students; however, some players (particularly based on the mouthpiece they use) may find that Rico's Grand Concert Select Thick Blank UNFILED reeds respond better. For me, as a longtime professional player, the two Rico cut styles boil down to this: a 4 in the unfiled is roughly the equivalent to a 3-1/2 in the filed. I know that's counter intuitive, but it's something to keep in mind. If you're comparing between different brands, these are roughly equivalent to Vandoren V-12 reeds. Well worth a try!

I recently picked up the clarinet again. These were the reed of choice 20 years ago, but not sure they are my favorite now. They feel rough, need sanding. And seem to not be as responsive as V12s

There were chipped reeds in the pack. Asked for assistance for return and received no response from Amazon.I have never ordered Rico reeds and had chips in the reeds before especially this quality of reed.I am editing and changing to 5 star due to response after posting.

My 15 year old grade 5 says these are super good!Took a few extra days to come from Germany but worth the wait.

Bis man sich als Holzbläser auf ein Blatt "einschiesst" können ja Jahrzehnte vergehen, ich hatte schon vor längerem die "Grand Concert Selected" für mich entdeckt, diese Version "Thick Blank" habe ich nun ganz frisch gefunden, bin begeistert.Ich finde den Ton damit wunderbar kontrollierbar, in allen Lagen gleich stark in Ton und Ansprache.Mein Tag ist gerettet :)
