Scrumdiddlyumptious! Great As A Pizza Sauce And Many Other Dishes!
I love to cook and bake, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare. This Traditional Pizza Sauce is a must have in my pantry! - Always fresh and delicious. Seasoned to perfection. with spices and garlic powder. - Easy to open! No can opener needed, simply open by grasping the ring on the top of the can and pulling the top open. That is a very convenient feature! - A nice consistency with just the right amount of thickness. Easy to spread. - Fantastic as a pizza sauce on my homemade sourdough pizza. - Yummy delicious for so many other dishes! Sauté some veggies, brown some ground meat or poultry, and add to the sauce for an easy to make fresh pasta sauce. Great over meatballs and also chicken breasts for chicken parmesan. - A terrific value. I highly recommend this product.

Great taste and value for the cost
I was hesitant to try and Amazon brand products fearing they would be low quality, high in sodium, or have an odd taste. Honestly we’ve been really happy with all of the Amazon food products we’ve purchased. The pizza sauce in particular was our favorite. The only disappointment was that some of the cans arrived dented.

good sauce
It's ready to go rite out of the can, the texture isn't too watery, the taste isn't overwhelming either. it thickens up when cooked.

Great Tasting Leftover Pizza!
What can I say? This is the best Pizza Sauce I have tasted from any can & any store ever! The Flavor is outstanding and is worthy of actually being called Restaurant Homemade Quality by the way it tastes coming from a can. We use for our homemade pizzas and it is remarkable in the taste and in the quality. The texture is thick and holds the toppings of our pizza perfectly. You can smell our pizzas from outside that it smells just that good. We aren't trying to have the entire neighborhood over, but sometimes it's nice when it's football season! Great Tasting Leftover Pizza!

Not the same
I bought this pizza sauce when it was the Happy Belly brand. Since they changed the label it does not taste the same anymore. It's just sauce with lots of sugar. Sorta bland compared to the original. I have had better. All you can do is doctor it up to make it better.

Whoa love this stuff!
I've been buying this for a few years now and love the taste and the quality. It has changed a few times in terms of quality but the latest delivery I got in December 2025 is nice and thick and perfect consistency with taste.

Great for chili
The apparent reformulation has left this product a little too watery to make pizza with, in my opinion. However, I decided to try it in a batch of chili I made recently, and it came out perfectly! And for the price, it's more than worth it. If you only want to use it for pizza, you could boil it down to thicken it. I think you could also add a little bit of flower while boiling. This process is quick because you only need like 1/4 of the can for a 12 inch pizza--so boiling just 1/4 of the can will only take a couple of minutes. Then you can use the other 3/4 of the can for chili--just fry celery, onions, peppers and your protein (in my case, TVP), then add this pizza sauce can to the pot (I poured in about 3/4 of the can and used the rest for pizza). After cooking a bit, I poured in some water, seasonings, and beans. Cooking time was only 30-45 minutes, and so easy with this pizza sauce.

This was once the best pizza sauce around, but no more!
I first purchased this pizza sauce last year and wasn't expecting much for the price, but at under a dollar it was worth a try. WOW!!! What amazing stuff! Rich, thick consistency, perfectly seasoned...without a doubt the best store-bought pizza sauce I ever had, and what a bargain! I often make individual sized homemade pizzas, and even after making a pie what was left in the can filled the jar that I had saved from my last jar of Walmart sauce to the top. I hurriedly ordered more - I wanted a dozen, but the max allowable was 10, but no problem - I placed another order after that! Meanwhile I told all my friends and family whom I know make homemade pizza to get some of this absolutely fabulous sauce, and placed several more orders myself. Then came the crash. The recipe was changed. I opened a can, and instead of the thick, rich, wonderful sauce I had come to love, what the can contained was watery chopped tomato, with not even a hint of seasoning. Thinking this was a fluke, I opened a second can...then a third. All of them were a major disappointment; had the first can I purchased been like them I would never have gotten more. I still have a number of cans made from the original recipe and they're still in the carton they were shipped in so I know which they are, but I also have quite a few of the nasty ones. Not only do I now have to tell everyone I recommended this sauce to to not waste their money on it, but I don't know what to do with the watery tomato "sauce" - I don't even feel right donating them to a food pantry. I hate it when manufacturers take an excellent product and - to save money - totally ruin it. I'll never buy this again - it's back to Walmart or Ragu brand for me...or better yet, homemade! Edit to add: I see others have commented that the recipe is back to the original, and there must have been an error on Amazon's part where plain diced tomatoes were mislabeled as pizza sauce. Far be it from Amazon to contact customers to make things right! In any case, when I first purchased this sauce a few months ago it was 89 cents a can; as of today it's $1.69. No thanks Amazon - you can keep it.
