I bought the Pernambuco violin bow. I liked it so much that I bought another one for an interchangeable backup. Bows are about preference and style, but for me, the weight and balance seem just right for the styles of music I play. It doesn’t have too much bounce and not too light at the tip and has a good feel when digging into the strings. For the price, the quality of the Pernambuco bow is outstanding overall, and the two I purchased are very consistent. This led me to contact the seller and I bought a similar bow with more refined parts and workmanship. The seller, based in China, is easy to work with and they were trustworthy in the transactions including the purchase of an upgraded model. The nice person that helped me conveyed that we should trust products Made in China and that the Chinese people are working hard to produce quality products for the world. That was my experience.

First off, this is a nice sounding bow for the money. Clear and full compared to the student carbon fiber bow I have. It also is well balanced. The thing that concerns me is the warp in the bow once put under tension. I don’t know if the picture shows it well but it goes straight from the wrapping then a little to the left and then it curves to the right. It is a soft stick so I would expect a little direction in the camber but the fact that it goes left and then right is disconcerting. It seems well made for the price so maybe the stick I was sent was an exception. I am curious to see other reviews.
