I bought a different brand kettle 10 months ago. It still worked fine but my small hands are getting arthritis and it was getting harder to pick up with or without water. I needed a skinny handle. So deep dive research into comments I found this one that buyers claimed was easy grip and comfortable. The pic looked like it might be a thinner handle. So I took a chance. It came and it was even better than I expected. The handle is perfect for my arthritic small hands. the top isn't hinged like other ones. It snaps on and off for easy cleaning but you don't need to remove it to fill it. It has a silicone seal under the lid that opens when water hits it and closes when you stop filling it. The on on/off switch is on the bottom of the kettle not the handle. It is also very pretty, cute, and lightweight. The blue light on the inside when heating along with the red light on the switch is really beautiful. It boiled a half pot in 5 minutes, so fast. This pot is very well made which explains why they have a 2 year warranty instead of one. This Ovente brand is a good one. I also bought one of their immersion blenders this month which I'm also very happy with.

this is an excellent kettle i received today, it heats up in a hurry, boils faster than any kettle ive ever had before, the lid feels quite nicely fit on and the glass feels okay though i wouldnt want to drop it as it is made of glass and glass is always somewhat fragile, it is dead silent until its boiling away beside you and i quite like the metal filter on the spout though i dont know how useful it will be as i bought it specifically for tea and im only going to be boiling water in it

Easy to use. I like the top that allows you to fill without removing the lid. Heats quickly. Cool to touch handle. Inexpensive and works as expected, great value.

TBH, I was originally skeptical but soon learned to love this kettle so far. At first, without water, the kettle is slightly wobbly on the heating element, but water in the pitcher weighs it down to stable. It heats the water to boiling in just a couple of minutes -- much faster than my replaced kettle. LOVE the opening in the removable lid that is pushed down to let running water into the kettle but also keeps steam inside the kettle. Also love that the handle does not get hot. Love the switch on the bottle, under the handle, rather than a toggle switch on the handle, which wore out on my replaced kettle. Lid removes for wide access to clean inside of pitcher.

This is my forth similar tea kettle from Amazon and is the first one that didn’t suffer the demise of the first three. The problem with the others happens to be what this kettle doesn’t feature; the top hinge and handle on/off switch. The absence of a top hinge relieves the stress which eventually leads to the glass cracking. The on/off switch is directly mounted to the heat plate and is more simple, reliable, and durable than the others’ thumb operated toggle switch at the top of the handle. All four kettles are able to fit a man hand for washing; a requirement. I boil four or five full pots in this tea kettle daily. So far, this has lasted much longer than my other three tea kettles from Amazon. Besides being more durable and practical, it’s more attractive too. One of the two blue lights have since burned out, but it’s still going strong. I’ll buy another one if this one ever gives up.

Kettle was fine until it stopped turning off. Had it for a few and it was working fine until it wouldn't turn off after the water heated up. I was able to stop it a few times after it wouldn't turn off. But the other day, I was using it and it completely evaporated the water. Imagine if that thing shattered. I have pets in the house and I could only imagine what would happen if the glass or hot water shattered on them. Stay away from this thing. Major flaw in it's design. It should be recalled.

love it heats fast and don't have to open top to fill with water top closes when no water is going in.

By far., the best kettle I have ever owned. So easy to fill and clean. And it's a beautiful match for my red kitchen!
