Hario V60 "Buono" Electric Gooseneck Drip Kettle, 800ml, Silver

Just a quick note to say that this little electric tea kettle is SUPER! This kettle replaced a $30 Aroma electric kettle I'd purchased from Target, which I'd taken on numerous road trips, thinking "It's cheap, effective, gets the job done!" Truly, that Aroma kettle was dandy, but just a little too big, plus the spout was chunky and not suited for my purposes. The main driver behind my purchase of the Hario kettle was that I make pour-over coffee nearly every day - at home and on the road. What I wanted was a kettle just big enough to boil about 16 oz of water max, but more important, one with a very SKINNY spout, so I could moisten the grinds during the pour-over process. The Hario kettle spout is ideal for this task. Water comes to a boil very quickly, and the shape of the spout enables me to extract the coffee essence by sloooowly moistening the grinds in my pour-over beaker. The result is consistently an exceptional cup of coffee. I should also mention that the "cordless" part (being able to remove the kettle from the plugged-in heating element) makes it very convenient to use. I will definitely be taking this kettle with me on road trips, as it is smaller than the Aroma kettle I had, and will hopefully stand up to being packed in my "portable kitchen" bag with other stuff. On road trips, I will use the Hario to not only make pour-over coffee, but also the occasional cup of tea.

Perfect kettle ! Coming from Bodum, this thing gives me so much control, I love it. Perfect for my morning pour over routine, water comes to a boil really quickly maybe 2 mins top, I am only cupping though. But by the time I RDT, grind my beans and add the filter its done so it really makes the morning coffee routine flow. I'm not sure how the stove top one, but if u can afford it induction will always boil faster then flame.

Bought for my husband for his coffee station and he loves it. It works amazing and heats very fast love the weight and doesn't take up a lot of room. Would buy as a gift and if it ever goes out would buy another one for us.

I bought this kettle based on Hario reputation and the simple, clean design. I was disappointed. The kettle controls were very prone to scaling. And in less than three years, the kettle sprung microleaks from the bottom of the kettle. Not a lot of water but scary to have any leakage near the electrical base. I do not recommend this brand.

Works well. Pours adequately, heats up quickly. It leaks sometimes, don't know why. Never the less, it's a solid product

I bought this kettle in early 2015. It just failed: 2 1/2 years later. As a kettle it worked very well, while it did. I'm not sure what to think about a 2 1/2 year lifetime, but it seems less than ideal for a $70 piece of equipment, resulting in my 3-star rating. The handle and pouring action are great. The time to boil was good. It looked good on the counter (personal preference, of course). I was always a little annoyed with the water that would frequently drip out of the base while pouring. As far as I can tell, it's a result of boiling water and/or steam condensing in the tube that is used for the shut-off mechanism when it boils. It was always worse when larger quantities of water was boiled or the lid left on after use and water still in the kettle. I'm assuming that having the wiring and heating element area at the bottom of the kettle (not the plug-in base) subjected to the high humidity and liquid water is the reason it has stopped working. This seems like an unfortunate design issue. Some folks complain about the inside bottom of the kettle 'rusting', but I'm pretty sure it's just lime/precipitates from the water, not a defect in the kettle or stainless steel. I live in an area with hard water, and this is very common for pretty much anything that comes into contact with hot water. The layer comes off easily with an occasional scrubbing with a brush or a short soaking of vinegar. It's just more obvious in this type of design (bottom being the heated part) than with an immersed heating element like the plastic types. It's also easier to see against the larger, shinier surface of stainless steel. There is no warranty information available for this product on Amazon nor the Hario site. I've contacted Hario and will update my thoughts if they think this is unusual or whatnot.

This is my favorite electric kettle. The look has a unique design, the wavy shape is iconic. It pours smoothly and slowly from the thin spout for pour over coffee! Everybody should own an electric kettle, they are so efficient and much safe than stovetop kettle!

コンロ類等の使えない出先でのドリップバッグコーヒー用として購入。 和平フレイズの1.2Lのもよさげだったが、使用時の最低水量が0.5Lだったので、 こちらを採用決定。 ドリップ時の使いやすさは、加熱機構のない通常タイプ同様極めて良好で、 ハリオがコーヒードリップをよく理解していることがわかるデザインだ。 ●長所： ・一杯分（150mL）からでも沸かせる。 ちなみに一杯分は約100秒で沸く。なお、初回に水道水800mLをわかしたときは 約5分30秒で、説明書よりも早め。 （いずれも投稿時（12月）の常温の水使用。季節・水温で変動するはず。） ・意外と蒸発ロスが少ない。 500mLのペットボトルで3回淹れて、しっかり少し水が残った。 水量が少ない時は、結構ロスがあると思ったのでうれしい誤算。 ・出水口が内部の底面ギリギリにある。 少ない湯量でも有効に使える。ドリップ時の湯線コントロールもし易い。 ・注ぎ口が細く、太さが一定 これもドリップ時の湯線のコントロールに効く。 ・ずんぐりしたデザインは好みがあると思うが、少なくとも転倒しにくく、 安全性の面からも○。 ●短所： ・底面の通電用差込口に一発ではめにくい。 （慣れの問題かも） ・内部に棒状の温度センサーが生えているので、洗浄はその分やりにくい。 （機能上止むをえないが） ・デザイン上ハンドル〜口先までの幅が大きく、土台部分の径も大きめなので、 ややかさばる感あり。 ●その他 ・加熱の間や直後の外側はやはり熱くなるので、触れないように注意 ・使用後の内部に付着した水分が早く乾燥してくれたら、なおいいかも。

Puede parecer caro, pero dada la calidad no esta nada mal (hay que tener en cuenta tambien la marca). El diseño es elegante y funcionalmente cumple las expectativas. Genial para los amantes del cafe.

I succumbed a bit to the coffee-snob YouTubers in buying this thing for pour-over coffees. No complaints about the kettle itself, but I quickly realised I could get exactly the same results with my standard electric kettle, without the fuss of fishing this thing out of the cupboard and putting it on the hob. I stopped using it after a month or so. Should probably get round to sticking it on eBay.
