Perfectly simple for keeping doors shut
I had one of these at my previous home to keep the pets from pushing the bedroom door open. I bought this set because an idiot put in my front door and it didn't latch and the deadbolt didn't line up so I couldn't lock my door until I got a new handyman here. Good luck getting anyone to show up these days. These were perfect. Screw it into the jam, flip it over, and the door stays shut. I am going to paint them white but that is just a personal preference.Just a note, these would also be perfect for keeping kids from walking in, if you know what I mean.

Quick & easy to install
Used this to "lock" a bathroom closet to store cleaning products, medicine, nail polish, etc. away from young kids. It's easy to open for us and so far (a few years) has kept kids out. This is not a true lock - all you have to do is lift and then flip it to open, so if your kid is hellbent on getting in and they play with it long enough they'll figure it out. We don't have a chair anywhere near this closet and we put it really high up - almost to the top of the door frame - so it's not easy to reach... plus when I open it with kids in the room I cover it with my hand so they don't see how I do it. With that said, if I had an older kid I was concerned about taking prescription drugs or something like that, I'd go for something with a key. Another plus is it does minimal damage so when you want to remove it, you'll just have to fill a few holes inside the door frame which won't be noticeable.

Super simple and potentially life saving
Great product. This is not meant to keep someone from kicking in your door. It's meant to keep small children from opening the door on their own.Likes: Super simple to install. Finishes available to match existing door hardware. Effective in keeping three year old from opening the door and going outside. Minimally invasive, only two screw holes to patch up if you remove it. No need to notch your door jamb. Doesn't stick out like a sore thumb either. Blends right into the door system.Dislikes: A little thin. I would pay a dollar or two more for a slightly thicker steel, but then you run the risk of this product not working so universally.

Does the job
Didn't take any time to install, it wasn't expensive, and does an adequate job. I mean, it's a lightweight deterrent, if someone really wanted to get into your house it won't prevent them from kicking in your door. Just added safety along with my other locks.

Fantastic child lock!
I didn't use this as front door security like some of the other reviews here. These went on my closets as an alternative to knob covers... and let me tell you, this thing is sooooo much easier to operate! Just install it at eye level and out far enough that it flips back and forth easily. Yes you will drill a couple little holes into your door jamb, but they're out of sight and don't require notching out your trim. Unlike the "wobble knobs" as we call them, a kid *can't* figure this out and open the door, because it's up out of reach. They also *can't* jimmy them open, as the latch panel falls into a slot that locks it in place. Bonus, they *look* nice too. There's a little set screw that you can insert into the top hole, which prevents this from locking should you need to "deactivate" it. That'll be useful when this kid is grown and we don't need to lock the closets (we could uninstall them too, but hey, maybe there's a #3 in the future?)I bought two at first - one for the hall closet and one for the utility/furnace room - and liked them so much I bought 3 more for the rest of the closets in the house. Heavy duty toddler proofing!

It works, I guess?
The media could not be loaded. The lift lock doesn't sit flush to the door but gets the job done? I purchased this because my cats like to get into my closet and installing a door knob wasn't an option since it's a hollow door, I purchase this as a hopeful alternative. The quality of the lock that I received is questionable as it doesn't sit flush to the closet door like I was expecting, which really bothers me. However, even though the lift latch is visibly very angled and loose, it still prevents the door from being opened, so that's good. It was also very quick to install, another plus.

Worthless, buy first watch or everbilt
Sure they're easy to install. So are the ones from home depot by everibuilt and first watch. These are flimsy. They bend easily. They clealry weren't hardened. There's way too much play on the hinge once it's locked in place. Doesn't matter how you adjust it to the door frame. The hinge can be pulled away from the door by nealry and inch before stopping. Makes it really easy to push past. As my 11 yo neice accidentally found out.She didn't realize it had set, gave the door a little push thinking the door was just stuck and pushed right into the house.I have a tendency to install 2 1/2" screws on door hardware. These won't accommodate a flush install with 2 1/2" screws lisk the ones from firstwatch and everbilt. They also didn't save me any money compared to the other brands. There's really no upside to These particular latches. I'm highly disappointed becuase now I have to effectively buy them twice. The photo is one that isn't bent. You can see how far out from the door the latch will go before "bottoming out".The one i have on the front door from Home depot sits flush against the door so you can open it maybe a 1/8" before it bottoms out and the door won't move anymore. Needless to say I expected atleast the same quality as the home depot one seeing as the price is slightly higher for these
