Alien I trusion.
I love this book because it tells the truth about people' s experiences with aliens. They do exist. And it's sad that the USA is still hiding the truth about them.

but there is nothing in this to make you happy. It seems now in the expanding mass
OH DEAR ME!!!....yes itz well documented...but there is nothing in this to make you happy. It seems now in the expanding mass..that if not 'depressed'..then an' abductee'! I don't know if I should recommend it....not because it lacks cred' or worthiness..but because if you don't know ...then you may well be better off! Who do they choose and why??? In all the 40yrs I have followed this with avidity -.tho i don't go to conventions or mufo gatherings- There's so much I don't get... also...its so offensive because the human condition determines that we have much to contend with already...without being collected for private parties on astral yachts...with creepy lil fuggerz..doing a lot of unprovoked/unwelcome poking and probing..oh dear !

A Little Slice of History
The book is about a brave family and the mystifying abduction experiences they encountered. I especially appreciated the candor in which it was written. The facts were presented without embellishment. The quotes from the hypnotic regressions were quite interesting given that some didn't make a lot of sense; but to me, that meant they were most likely accurate, because the situations were of such high strangeness in and of themselves. It seemed that the abductions went from actual alien/ufo events to staged events involving a branch of the military. It made me wonder: exactly what is the agenda of this shrouded military intervention?? The author certainly was brave to come forward with all of the details. I wish to thank the author's husband for reissuing this book. The older copies were going for unbelievably exorbitant prices, some over a thousand dollars! I hope it makes this important book available to a much wider audience. It is a book that is definitely worth reading especially because the material is, unfortunately, such a "fringe" topic. Remember, it is only one part of the entire alien/UFO phenomena that has been unfolding over this past century. This should be kept in mind while reading. My heart went out to this family :(

Gives details about abductions
I’ve read this type of book for the last 30 years. This book ( even though the first printing was 1992) gives the reader new information on what goes on during an abduction. It also speculates as to why this phenomenon is happening. Even though we cannot prove this is happening to the victims, we get new insights into the abilities the aliens use to cloak themselves during the abduction. It also asks the reader the question..... “is this happening to me or anyone I know”? If you have any questions in regards to the fact that this planet is being observed by other living bodies read this book. In closing I will add.... keep reading on this subject. No one book will answer all questions.

A biggish sigh
Over the years I've grown wary of books about the realm of the fantastic that carry the abbreviation Ph.D after their writers name. In case of Mrs. Turner it turns out she is a doctor of English language. What is the relevance of that piece of information when it comes to her recounting the experiences of her own and those of her circle? The writing is good, but to experience good writing I do not have to know the writer is a woman of letters. The fact she writes a book is good enough evidence for me.Into the fringe is in many ways a post-modern abduction book. The writer tells she is knows lots of books on the subject. In the course of the story she reads more of them. The more odd her family's life gets, the more sceptical about the conventional theories about the phenomenon at large she seems to become. And yet there is nothing in her narrative that could not have been cooked up by a fertile-but-psychotic personality after reading one or two books by Whitley Strieber. And even if Turner's observations are solid and truthfull, which I actually do not doubt, there is the ever present fact that practically all "evidence" she presents spring from sessions of regressive hypnosis. Regression hypnosis if known to throw the client into theta-state of the brain, which is one of the most creative, yet haunting states of the humanmind. Stories captured under this state are extremely prone to subconscious manipulation by the hypnotist or the clients themselves. So the stories thus obtained tend to be fantastic. It does not make them untrue, it makes them untestable and unfathomable. This book does not throw light on the phenomenon of abduction. It just poses more questions.

Great Book--BUT Horrible Formatting on the reprint of this Author's original Book
Bought this and Taken. The same person "Re-issued" both books with the permission of the late Author's Husband. When I got the books? I sent them back Immediately . Horrible reprint 40 EXTRA PAGES because the "re-Issuer" of the books left at least 1 -1 1/4 inches from BOTH the bind to page end without any print. You can see it in the example. I wanted to buy both author's books and I'm glad someone is re-issuing them, but I could NOT handle the formatting mistakes. When you re-issue a book it needs to be BETTER than the Original Print. Not the case here. I give 1 star to the formatting.

A look at aductions from the view of a psychologist
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Dr. Turner does an excellent job of informing us of her, her husband's and her sons abductions over a long period of time. She explains the hypnotic regressions of all of her family and two friends, but comes up with no conclusions as to whether these entities that are abducting her are extraterrestrial, from another dimension or are what used to be called elves, etc. She doesn't know, but she does give us good descriptions when she can.I highly recommend this book.
