Seems like a great little hob so far - our kitchen gets used by many people and its holding up to that onslaught well!Most of our hobs have only lasted a year or so due to regular usage - will update this if anything changes.May be useful to note if you're looking at hobs for shared living that the electric heating element style ones are really made for heating liquids and don't last well when frying / heating low mass foods - look at commercial kitchen versions and they'll be called 'Boiling Tops' or similar.It looks quite stylish and heats things fast, would buy another if they come back into stock.

1) The Hob is VERY Slow to respond to the control compared to my other Halogen Infrared Hob.2) The temperature control is AWFUL! I can turn it to FULL sometimes and it turns itself off before the pot of water is even boiling!!!This product is verging on useless and at worst DANGEROUS, since :-a) The temperature control thermostat seems to be virtually useless at detecting the temperatureb) The temperature control does not even have a lock in the OFF position, i.e. nothing to stop it slipping out of OFF and turning on if anything so much as touches the control knob! It should at the VERY LEAST have a "CLICK" when the dial crosses the ON/OFF to hold it in the OFF position, and to give the user some haptic feedback that the device is definitely OFF!The only thing it has going for it is it's size, it does fit into small area if your kitchen worktop space is very limited3) at 1200W it is rather under powered

We bought this for our old motorhome so when hooked up we weren't using our gas.It has exceeded our expectations. Some say it's not powerfull enough though I'd beg to differ.Making Paella in a large wok gets to simmering point quite quickly and continues to simmer meaning it is powerfull enough. Perhaps the thermostat is not brilliant as you do have to manually adjust the heat but what do you expect for the money.In summary a well priced and good all round package let down by a poor thermostat.

Heats up very slowly. After a couple of uses the steel bands around the hotplate turned a copper colour.The markings around the dials are also fading. Not worth the money wish I'd bought a cheaper hotplate.

I checked reviews for this product before buying and felt happy going ahead with the purchase, however, having used this in our motorhome this weekend I was very disappointed with its performance. The temperature was very difficult to regulate, seemed to be either on or off and pans sliding all over the place, maybe I just got a bad one!! I would not recommend this product

I bought this product to use while I was having a new kitchen fitted. I thought it was fairly priced and was very pleased with the hob. Everything I tried to cook on it worked. It heats up quickly and retains the temperature well. It also accommodates large pans (I cooked a pot of chilli for seven people one night very successfully). I have no complaints about the product , I highly recommend it.

Bought to use instead of firing up big stove all the time. Very handy and seems to have good strong heat. Easy to clean. Recommend this item.

It is difficult to clean.Pretty quick, but not always sure if you have switch it off.
