Excellent sound and picture quality
So I am one of the few people on the planet apparently that has never received these movies. Never read the books either. I did however find myself in New York City last month and with time to kill my wife suggested me go to the Harry Potter store. I mean it was a cool star and all but nothing in there meant anything to me because like I said I've never seen the movies. Now after we returned my wife suggested well you know what, they are pretty good films maybe you should watch? So I jump on Amazon and there's at least a dozen different two choices to buy the collection of movies. And the prices randomly move around upwards of $125 if you want Blu-ray and then there's some of the descriptions that say these don't work in United States.. so I just went ahead and got the bear basic simple DVDs and we have already watched the first two. The sound quality is great, the picture is really nice even though I don't have that awesome of a DVD player these are in letterbox format but the black areas above and below are minimal. , if your sole purpose isn't because you want a collection's edition or Blu-Ray or anything but you just want to see the movies because maybe you haven't yet or you want to see them again and they're not currently streaming anywhere... This is the collection you want to buy.

Very good product, but a couple of comments
I'm actually very pleased with this product! It's very cheap, and very good quality. There are, however, a couple of things that I feel I should point out.First, the case that it comes in is a standard mass production case that most multi-disc sets use. Don't expect a lavish collectable case, especially for the price. The case is still very durable, and allows all of the movies to be stored in a small amount of space.Second, the films in this set ARE NOT THE SPECIAL EDITIONS. They are standard edition, as if the first disc from each movie was put in here. While there are some special features, there are not a lot.Next, the discs themselves appear to be great quality. All of mine worked extremely well, and there were no defects whatsoever, save one thing. The disc that I received for Deathly Hallows Part 1 is missing a cover. The disc is all black, and the title and copyright information are on there, but there is not picture. This, however does not in any way affect the viewing of the movie, and is only an aesthetic concern. Also, the box that the DVD's come in is not the absolute best quality, but it is sturdy. It serves it's purpose, and it looks very nice!PLease note, if you want something that's collectible, DO NOT BUY THIS SET. There are others out there that will better suit your needs. However, this set satisfies all of the casual viewers' needs. It presents the movies in an accessible, affordable manner, and is absolutely a great buy! I recommend this to all Harry Potter fans who wish to have all of the movies!EDIT As of Nov 12, 2013: It seems that the original product that I wrote this review for has been altered in some way. I'm very sorry for any confusion that results form this. Just to clear up, the set that i bought only included the 8 movies on regular DVDS. There were not any special features or extra discs.

Comprehensive Collection of Potter
I was surprised to really like the Harry Potter series: I hadn't read any of the books nor seen any of the films, but the precociousness of the three main characters in the first film hooked me. Even the magic surprised me in its quaintness (not the usually overdone visual effects). If you don't like Potterdom, then you will not like this collection. If you do, then it's hard to beat. Not only are all 8 films included in this collection, but each of the 8 has a companion extras Blu-ray disc, each of which has up to five hours of bonus videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes episodes, deleted scenes, and trailers. It's an expansive collection of all things Potter that will satisfy anyone in that realm.Technically, there are two notes: 1) some of the default audio options in the earliest films are not the highest resolution (I guess they thought that not all Blu-ray players back then could handle it); and 2) the artwork on the box does not match what is shown on Amazon's page (the front now shows the three images of Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) as he aged through the films. The former is consequential if you want the highest quality audio, so make sure to check the options. The latter is just cosmetic and inconsequential. Finally, the price is reasonable, especially if you purchase this box set on Prime Days, in which case each year (movie plus extras disc) costs only about $3.75.

Review is for the 4K Ultra set for 99.00
Amazing set, every disk played great and the color and sound are outstanding. There are also just plain Blue Ray disks in this set also, I wanted the 4K HD and it was worth it. I love Harry Potter and am about to switch to all streaming which means no more ability to tape shows, so stocking up on my fav Blue Ray. Wish they made more shows with this great option. . With more people switching to pure streaming I think sales will boost for disks. This review is for the higher priced set. I see people reviewed other sets were less favorable. This set is great.
