Just got this in today. I think overall I am happy with it. It will be sitting outside my mothers house and will work just fine for that purpose. But there are a couple things I want to note about the one I received if you are thinking about buying one.It is hollow and made of plastic. It will get blown over by a reasonable breeze. You may want to think about supporting it with some rocks, or slicing open the bottom, adding some sand or rocks, and hot glueing it closed. Should be able to withstand any breeze with that addition.The paint job on mine does not match the picture in the description, or the picture taken by another reviewer. My colors were more dull and darker looking. The red in the beard doesn't show up quite so well, and the green coat looks more dark olive to me. It doesn't bother me though. I actually like how mine looks better than the description. I may dab some red paint in the eyes for a more demonic look. (pictures below)The gnome has a seam where the two halves were molded together. There is some excess material that was painted over. It's not particularly noticeable if you are looking at it straight on. (pictures below)There is a small hole in the top of the hat which has the potential for water to collect inside of it. I will probably give it a dab of hot glue to close it up. But again, it's not noticeable from the front. (pictures below)The hands are attached separately with glue. A good hard bump could knock them off. But it seems like it can be easily glued back together.It did not smell when it arrived. Mine has a production date sticker of January 2014, and I received it December 2014. The smell may have worn off in that time, but I smelled nothing upon arrival.I don't know how well the paint will last if left in the sun for any period of time. My guess is the paint will fade over time. But it's a $10 plastic gnome. What did you expect? I will update this review if it fades prematurely.I'm happy with it, and I expect it will last in my mothers front yard for a good year or two before replacing it.

having read the reviews, i expected a terrible paint job...and i was NOT disappointed with how bad it was. (see attached pictures)that said, i knew i would be repainting it, so i wasn't worried. the sculpt itself is very good, in my opinion, and with a little creativity and the fact that the mold has solid 'bones', this will no doubt end up looking pretty terrific (Reviewer Winterwraith did a great job on theirs, and i hope for similar results).this is like a blow mold christmas decoration--not foam, as one reviewer said--except the plastic is a bit thicker and dark in color. i was a little disappointed by this, because i had planned to install a light inside it.

Just as expected. As mentioned in other reviews, the color isn't as shown but I may touch it up. Tiny hole in the hat but as it is very light I may use it to add play sand so it doesn't blow over. Perfect for my nephews

I knew from the previous reviews that it wasn't going to be much. When receiving it the right hand was barely glued on but we used that to our advantage since the gnome is so light it could blow away. We removed the hand and took a funnel to the hole and filled the bottom with sand. Now the gnome weighs probably 5 or 10 pounds, which is perfect. Now it sits in my garden and it's the perfect addition!

We've purchased 2 separately and they were very differently painted, yes both were painted poorly. Perhaps painted fast by children in a fume-filled Chinese factory. It can be repainted. Ours is popular with the neighbors and we bought the second for my parents who think it's hilarious. It is hollow and won't chip as easily as solid "resin" plastic lawn decorations. My parents bring theirs camping with them. Ours has been outdoors year-round in New England for a couple of years without any damage. It blows over but hasn't blown away at all, even in 40 MPH winds, though our city-issued Toter trash bin flies for several blocks.

Bought this for a friend's garden. We like to put random things in it and see how long it takes her and her hubby to find them. It's good for outdoors bc it's plastic. Light though so it does fall over. Which is how they found it. There was a tiny hole in the top of the base though so my friend's husband put some sand in it and it's standing short in the rock garden now.

It doesn't win any artistic awards, it looks much better as a small image. I'm rather judgmental about art and honestly this is going to look better from a distance in the lawn than it will up close in the living room. But it's funny regardless, and if you're after a gnome that eats brains, this is a gnome that eats brains.Let's face it, you want this because you wanted something original. And not $100.

I received the Zombie Gnome very quickly. It was packed well and looked exactly as it did online. Some of the other reviews stated that it was really light. I didn't realize how light until I received it. Not sure this is something that could sit outside and survive the weather, even if you weighted it down. It is adorable, though. I would recomment it...just know that the slightest wind would blow it away.

Received this. It's unique. Unfortunately border patrol must have thought there was drugs in it as the hands looked like they were broken off and then hastily glued back together. If that's the case I wouldn't recommend trying to bring it across the border.. v.v''' Neat little figure though, the person it was gifted to at least had a sense of humor about it all.

He was perfect. I found him a little lighter than expected but it is right for the purpose I needed him for.
