Kohinol KH3415 Colored Pencils, Dry Highlighter, Set of 6 Colors

I bought these to mark my Bible. I LOVE them! They are nice and bright but I can easily read through them and they don't bleed through the page. And I like the choice of colors. I can change them as I need to when I highlight passages.

Buttery color lay down while being truly dry and non greasy or chalky. They're comparable to Prismacolor Premiers though with higher tactile feedback. These don't smear and they arent overly soft. All pencils react under 365/395nm UV. Note: yes, blue is fluorescent as well but will be drowned out by the optical brighteners in most white paper. Plan accordingly. Also, they don't seem to blend with plain friction though I have yet to try a solvent for the wax. They're also waterproof/resistant so not for a base layer. These are fantastic and it took way too long to find them. I do blacklight art and these are a great addition to the toolkit! Highly recommend. Koh I Noor always comes through (big fan of their Ultradraw ink as well)

I love the pop of ink-based highlighters, but I always find that they bleed too much and with many brands the darker colors (like blue, green, red) tend to be excessively dark so it defeats the purpose of highlighting text. So for my books and music scores, I usually underline and circle with colored pencils. However, I sometimes wish they could pop more, most colored pencils tend to be more muted even with bright colors like pink/red/orange. I am finding that these "Dry Markers" are a great in-between alternative – all the poppy brightness of highlighters, but with a sharper point and zero bleed like pencils. Plus even the "darker" colors like blue and green are actually quite bright and neon, which is the point of a highlight. 4 stars only because I wish the color labels on the end of the pencil were closer to how they actually appear. For example the one which looks like it might be a proper red is actually much closer to being what I would describe as a salmon (orange-pink). The one which you might think is pink I would describe as close but similar to a light purple-lavender. Minor stuff, but I confuse them sometimes haha! Also sometimes I don't love the texture. As they are called "Dry Markers" I would emphasize the word "dry" in my description of how they feel on the page... unlike most pencils and markers you might be used to with a bit of a soft, buttery, smooth (almost "wet" feeling), these are comparatively a bit rough and take some effort with some colors to really get them going, requiring you press down harder to get a nice vivid line, more than I'm used to with say regular colored pencils. It's not a huge deal, mostly takes getting used to.

Colors are great but they do t write smoothly. Got them for my Bible and they are too hard for the fragile pages.

Wanted to try pencil highlighters, this is a very nice set. Colors show up well.

Excellent dry highligthing pencils!

tl;dr: They highlight and fluoresce just as well as markers, reduce disposable plastic waste, can't bleed through pages or dry out in storage, don't smudge, and can be erased like any other pencil. Better than ink! Highly recommend! The colours are great and appear just as bright on the page as typical highlighter pens, but there's no risk of ink feathering or bleeding through thin pages because there is no ink. They are completely dry, but aren't chalky so they don't smudge. With no ink they can't dry out while being stored which cheap highlighter pens tend to do. Better still, I've tried it out and these are still erasable like any other pencil so any mistakes can be easily corrected, something which is impossible with a highlighter pen. I also checked them under UV light and they fluoresce just as you would expect a highlighter to. The pencils are a decent length, so I expect them to last for quite a while. Being pencils, you can also sharpen them to a point so if you prefer underlining these are great for being precise. I only wish they sold these as refills for mechanical pencils too.

Die Textmarker überzeugen durch sehr gute Markenqualität und kräftige, leuchtende Neon-Farben. Die Farbabgabe ist gleichmäßig und intensiv, ohne schmierig zu wirken. Besonders positiv ist, dass sich die Stifte auch sehr gut zum Zeichnen auf schwarzem Papier eignen – die Farben kommen dort klar und deutlich zur Geltung. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass die Stifte relativ häufig nachgespitzt werden müssen, was bei regelmäßigem Gebrauch etwas unpraktisch sein kann. Insgesamt dennoch sehr gute Textmarker mit starker Farbwirkung und vielseitigem Einsatzbereich.

Estas pinturas son ideales para libros de colorear porque tienen el mismo diámetro que el resto de lapiceros. Los lapiceros fluorescentes habituales son mucho más gruesos que un lapicero tradicional y eso dificulta guardarlos con el resto de pinturas y, sobre todo, dificulta mantenerlos afilados de la manera óptima para colorear. Con estas pinturas no tienes ese problema. La mina es suave y los colores son muy bonitos, pintan muy bien. Además, gracias al color blanco de estos lapiceros, los distingo perfectamente entre mis lapiceros de colores Brutfuner, que son negros.

I’m a professional artist and I’ve been looking for some neon fluoro pencils that can stand the test of time and that aren’t too waxy. I’ve used this brand before in watercolours and so I decided to give the neon pencils a try too. I was not disappointed!! The colour on these pencils lays down so beautifully, you can layer them, blend them together and they just bring a pop of joy to every artwork!
