So Far Still Working Outside And In 36 Months Later! My Rescue Cat LOVES This! (See 12/'25 Update!)
My rescue kitty will "tolerate" being inside if he decides to sleep somewhere there during the day, or comes in to be a "lap kitty" while watching TV in the evening. But after a few hours in, he wants back out, and certainly prefers to be out at night, since he pretty much lives for "the thrill of the hunt!" He's VERY good at it too! And I'm good with that, as he will wake me to let him out in the middle of the night, unless it's super stormy / "pouring" out there, and I can't always get right back to sleep, which I HATE when that happens! He has a nice "Kitty Condo" up high in our 3 sided carport with 2 comfy "hut" options that gives him refuge from weather when he wants it to cozy up in out of the wind. He's not exactly Ferrel, but he had a rough start in life, and still prefers not being closed in for very long. THIS heat pad works EXACTLY as advertised.. VERY cheaply, and gives him the "heated / unheated" option in one of his spaces if he wants it. I like that I don't have to worry about him getting cold overnight if the temps drop to 20's or teens! And I can tell that As Advertised.. the pad, which I inserted under the "fill" in his pet bed, doesn't get overly hot for him! He just seems comfortable as can be when I go to check on him. Feeling under him, it's nice and WARM, but not "hot". And when he's not in the bed, I don't feel any heat at all. Perfect! I do unplug the pad once summer temps approach, the reverse as temps head toward winter. I see the price go up and back down on this pad, and even ordered a second (same brand) larger one as a back up should this stop working at a bad time. But for the $21 and change I paid, it's great peace of mind when it's cold or stormy. Definitely "Rescue Cat Approved" at our house! Update 9/'24 I've just noticed last few days that the pad is still working as far as heating.. But, it's now ALWAYS on, and QUITE warm, even without cat using it. Whatever "Auto" on / off function it has stopped working. Worked great from Dec. of '22 until this week. Unplugged for 24 hrs, plugged back in, (No cat) and was again quite warm within minutes. Supposedly only uses 4 watts, still CHEAP to leave on but feels pretty warm / hot now to me. Guess I'm switching to the new larger one I bought as a back up. Update 12 / '25! Still as noted above! Always warm and both units still used by Kitty who's now indoors during dark hours after barely surviving a Fox attack a year and a half ago!! ( Amazing 100% comeback! Healthy as ever and now used to overnights indoors and often a good part of the day as well. ) He loves both units, one indoor, one outdoor still working great! Great quality! Price goes up and down but we're now loyal customers for the reliability!

Big cat approved but still not large enough for multi cat situations
I usually use a regular electric headed blanket for my cats in the winter but I was going away for 2 weeks and didn’t feel comfortable leaving that on while I was gone. I got this so my cats would still have some warmth in their cat bed. It warms up pretty quick once pressure is applied. I bought the largest size but it’s still not large enough. I have 5 cats and needed something the size of a couch because my cats like to sleep in a giant cuddle puddle. It served its purpose and worked but just wish they woukd make a larger blanket sized pad. Hete is my fat cat chuckie hogging the pad. As you see it is not dry large plus it was expensive for what it is. I can buy a 50x60 heated throw blanket cheaper

This thing has been amazing. Buying larger size- but not because this one isn’t working any more.
There are a LOT of choices of this kind of product for sale on Amazon. I noticed this one had gotten good reviews, so I ordered this product some time ago. My purchase has completely outperformed any expectations, and has proved to be one of the most durable and reliable items I have EVER purchased off of Amazon. If you are at a loss as to which plug-in pet heating pad to try, all I can say is, that I am SO glad I chose this one out of all of them. I have an outdoor cat I take care of. He’s semi-feral, and prefers living outdoors. I set up a shelter for him a few years ago and, as it snows here- not often, but it snows- and he finally started using it after a few weeks of sleeping on top of it. After a few months, knowing the cold weather was coming, I decided to put a heating source in his box with his bedding. He has a nice soft blanket and a cushion, and his box keeps direct cold drafts out of it, but when the temperature gets really low, I worried about him. I didn’t have much money at the time I saw this product on Amazon, so I ordered the smallest size of one. When it showed up, it seemed kind of pathetic. It was about the size of a handkerchief. It didn’t look like it was capable of much. Let me tell you- this product is AMAZING. You just plug it in, put it into the animal’s shelter (I sandwiched his between layers of his blanket) and the cat or dog etc. lays down on it and- this little thing keeps him as warm as hot toast. At first, too, I worried about keeping it plugged in all the time, but when he is not laying on it, it doesn’t heat up. I have an outdoor extension cord running from his box on the back porch to and outlet, and have had no problems with it at all. I’ve had his little pad plugged in since November of 2022, and it is still going strong. It made me so happy to glimpse him curled up in his shelter, sleeping happily, warm and secure, safe from the cold outside world he had lived in for so long. My kitty friend is getting older, and I have a bit more to spend now, so I am upgrading to the Large sized heating pad. But I have to say- I really don’t need to: the smallest one keeps him plenty warm. I will just keep the smaller sized pad, and when the larger one arrives, I will donate it to a shelter, as I am certain it has many years of life left in it. I cannot recommend this product more. It works so well that I kind of forgot about it, and had been meaning to write a review for it. But I just never thought about this little pad, because it was just so reliable. If you are on the fence about buying this product, or confused as I was by all of the choices, all I can say is- go for it. Sadly, it is a surprise these days that something we buy meets our expectations. And when a product performs this spectacularly- it’s a blessing. It’s so wonderful that such a small thing can make such a big positive difference in another creature’s life. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Very nice
This is a great little heat pad for small dogs. Others said it’s not that warm or effective. it’s not going to be as warm as a human heat pad, of course. It’s as warm as it should be. My geriatric dachshund loves it. I would compare the warmth to the spot in your couch after your dog gets up from napping. It is a safe temp and seems pretty durable. It fits neatly in a dog bed under the cover.

Great product. No downsides.
I have three of these things and they're great. I have them plugged in year round and the cats can choose to lay on them or not. (They lay on them a lot.) The heating pad itself is really sturdy and high quality. The pad itself puts out a nice level of warmthness without being too much. I've honestly thought about getting a fourth one lol. (I only have 3 cats..) One of the best things about these little pads is you can stick them anywhere. I don't have to buy some big ugly heating bed - I can just stuff it in a cat tree under their normal blanket, or wedge it between a bed and blanket they already use. They're totally unobtrusive.

Pet Heating Pad
Bought to keep my cat warm in cold weather. It does not get really warm, but works with the cats body heat. Good purchase for the price.

Works well but short lifespan.
This a nice pad. This is my fourth headed pad by K&H. The cats like them. Just plug them in and forget it. Hears my only complaint. They usually don't last for more than 2 winters. I just brought out the two I have. The one I bought last year is working but the other one is dead. This would've been it's 3rd winter. I'm going to buy another one only because I love my cats. That's pricey for a short lifespan. They should last longer.

My 3 cats love them!
My three cats love th K&H line so much. I have two beds and one heating pad, all nearly two years old and still working as advertised. The heating pad works really well to keep the cats off my keyboard in my office while I'm working from home, and I keep the beds in the living room where they like to hang out in the evenings (they rotate-one in each bed and one on my lap). I unplug them in the summer, and they are still popular. I love the small size of these inserts, because I am trying to make room for three cats on my desk to keep them from fighting over territory or embarrassing me in front of my colleagues (yesterday, the heating pad was occupied, so my 18 yo Ginger sent the messagr "ffhjkl" to my division over Teams). I'm very excited for these compact heating inserts, which I can station appropriately throughout my office, making use of bedding I already have on hand. They seem easy to clean and durable. For those saying they are too small, my cats don't seem to mind. The small size enables them to all have ample territory while staying nice and cozy. I also love that they use minimal electricity, making them easy on my electrical bill. Pictured: Ginger (18yo) accosts Peaches (3yo) for her turn on the K&H heating pad. Pictured: the heating pad inserts are small enough to fit under a the compact bedding my cats have already been using regularly. This bedding fits nicely into my existing office space, allowing all three cats to coexist peacefully without fighting.
