Finally a Self-Help that works! For the Diligent.
Excellent Guide. This is what self-help should look like. Finally, we have arrived at Science (Evidence-based) Self-Help book that is implementable. Last 40 years, I have dewlled into bibliotherapy and can probably recall 10 good books. Rick Hanson has been honing his expertise and the craft of writing over years and been getting better with each book. This is a good book if you are serious about improving yourself.

A Read Compassionate, Warm and Wise
"Resilient" is an exceptional book. It stands out as a book that is well-organized, well-written, useful, warm and wise.I initially wrote a "one-star" review of "Resilient" because I found my computer infected with malware after I visited a site mentioned at the end of the book. When I wrote that review, I offered to make another review should the issue I encountered be acknowledged. The authors have responded and I accept their assurances that, at the least, they have paid attention to the potential problem and may have it completely resolved. I expressed myself much more harshly than I really intended. I apologize to the Hansons and to the readers of the first review for that excess.Given that I committed to re-review the book in my first review, I felt a challenge to write a review that was an accurate review and not an apology. I offer this. I generally don't experience books for which I want to write "five star" reviews. "Resilient" deserves five stars. In the context of making my life more resilient against all the pains, challenges and opportunities I face in life, "Resilient", while not resilience itself, is certainly an excellent signpost pointing to where I might find a more resilient life. I expect that it will take me some time to fully appreciate how much I will be getting out of this book. "Resilient" discusses twelve qualities of being that one might cultivate in order to a have a more resilient life. I have not yet read each section closely, but in the several sections on which I have focused I have found compassionate concern for myself as the reader, insights that have quickly enriched my life, and suggestions for feeling, thinking and acting that I can actually use. I am glad for reading "Resilient", and I look forward to expending the effort to bring what it shares into my life. To quote Dr. Hanson from the book, "If you know your course is good, even if it is not immediately rewarding, stay with it." This is a book offering a course with which to stay. I plan on sharing this book with my friends and family, and I would encourage other readers to come along. To Rick and Forrest Hanson, thank you.

A Good Read
I’ve read a handful of books with similar themes, and this one was another good read. It’s easy to read and enjoyable. And I think beginner and advanced learners alike can benefit from this.

Simple and effective techniques for combating anxiety
Great stuff! Definitely worth trying. Like anything, it takes practice to start to see results, but the HEAL method helped me right away. In just a few weeks I already feel like I’ve made a lot of progress. The book gives you good techniques for approaching and managing anxiety - when it is happening in the moment, as well as how to train your brain to see the positive (combat negative thought patterns and build up resilience). The book focuses on 2-3 techniques, which are easy to understand with good practice exercises. Each chapter showcases the same techniques through different lenses, which helps to reinforce it and shows you that they can be used in a variety of situations. Definitely worth a try.

ReBorn
I have recommended this book to so may people at this point, I can’t keep up. This book was transformational for me. I feel as if a huge fog has lifted from my eyes, and I am seeing clearly for the first time in my adult life. And instead of only bad memories, I am remembering good memories too! And they are even chasing the bad memories out! This book has been a rebirth book for me.

Pretty good for beginners in neuroscience, mindfulness, and positive psychology
If you're already into books like How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One or The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness OR if your philosophy is that of Unity or CSL, this book will be elementary for you.In my opinion, the meditation experiences are too "victimy" and blaming others for self-discontentment.Good writing and grammar though.
