Are the models on the cover the latest models? they look diffrent in the trailer, but the graphics are always improving.

The cover models are probably higher-render ones than the ingame ones. Does it matter too much though? It doesn't seem like we'll be seeing them too much. Cutscenes in games usually use higher-quality models than the ones you use, e.g. Jak II, Jak 3, Sonic Heroes, Super Smash Bros., Super Mario Sunshine...

Shadow is in the shattered crystal game right? Why is he evil now?

Shadow's in here for fanservice, but in Shattered Crystal he at least has been mind controlled. In Rise of Lyric, he was pretty there only to be a jerk to Sonic and friends and............that's it.
