Crap! waste of 20 bucks
This product is the biggest POS ever!. Dont waste your money by buying it. The main reason I bought it was to hear the sound of trickling water. No such sound comes from this product. COULD NOT hear one trickle of water after setup. Wish I could return the item if it wasnt such an hassle.

misleading packaging
The fountain is attractive. The pump sound is barely audible and not intrusive. However, look at the picture. You can count 25 rocks in the half of the product you can see. The total number of rocks in the package? 14. I'm keeping the fountain, but I'm not happy that I have to buy more river rock to make it look right.

good fountain
Bought this fountain to zen-up my bedroom. First off, it's easy to set up. I set the pump to about half power and kept it there as I found that to be the best balance of pump noise and water trickle. You'll have to play around with the rocks until you figure out which arrangement results in the least splashing of water. It doesn't splash a lot of water but drops will accumulate around it so it's best to have it sit on a surface that won't be damaged by water. The bulb inside that emits a nice warm orange glow lasted a few months. The fountain itself is made from plastic. Overall, it's a nice room accessory.

much smaller than previous ones
I have had many of these Homedics fountains over the years. my cats love them for drinking fountains. this one is much smaller than the previous ones. maybe that is a way to keep them with a lower price? not sure. came with 10 little ugly stones like I could have picked up in my driveway. It works, cats like it, but nothing compared to what they used to be.

OK for the price I suppose...
I bought this exact same model at Target and ended up returning it. It does have a tasteful appearance considering the low price, but the sound of falling water doesn't really mask the whirring of the pump, which the instructions say can get worse with time as sediment builds up in the water. Not sure whether to give it two or three stars. Of the three Homedics fountains I tried out from Target this was the best and I considered keeping it. For me though I'm very happy with the 30GPH ten dollar/free shipping pump from Amazon, the smallest pump on the market. The idea is to use the least electricity, and raise a little bit of water over a foot, then have it drip from as many sources as possible onto rocks or pebbles for the best possible relaxing sound.

Great little fountain for price!
What I wanted: trickling waterWhat I got: trickling water!Make sure to set the pump at highest speed for maximum flow. Even though it is already set at the highest flow, physically make sure. Mine looked like it was already set at max., but I pushed it further and heard the "click" mentioned in the instruction manual. While there were more than 2 stones (one reviewer got ripped off it seems with just 2 stones), I still added more. It's a $20 fountain...don't expect $100 materials or effects!FYI...stay away from the Buddha fountain from same company. While Buddha looks good, there was NO water noise! Sad because like I said, it looks good!I bought my mom the Garden Leaves fountain from same company. I love that one! So much water flow and the lighting is beautiful! I may get one for myself! Only downside...not enough rocks/stones! Fortunately I had some (ones from IKEA are perfect size).

An excellent choice for a small fountain
this fountain was an excellent choice for my home decor. It's small enough that it fits well on an end table without being obtrusive or being at risk of getting bumped into or knocked over. With the different pump settings, I can make it silent if I wish, but at the medium setting it makes just the right amount of sound for me. Although my husband thought it looked unstable, like it might be easily knocked over, it's a pretty solid feature, difficult to budge with casual contact. The illumination is nice and gentle--low enough for a bedroom setting without disturbing anyone trying to sleep--and while the feature comes with a packet of rocks to decorate it with, I went with flat glass marbles that I already had laying around the house instead, and they really catch the light. It has really added a new level of serenity and comfort to my home.
