Mouse down!
After doing extensive research, I knew I needed a trap that wasn’t disposable, in case rodents returned again in my home, a trap that didn’t require the need for poison baits and can be used around my pet; this trap checked all the boxes. Having observed the runnings of the brown mouse, I knew exactly where to set the trap which is relatively easy to do. Using gloves, I unscrewed the small bait opening and placed some chocolate within it, not much is needed. Set the trap and trust me, the hinge is strong and did stay in place where I positioned the trap near my pantry. Did this with both traps around 5pm and by 11:00pm, or a little afterwards, I heard it click; knew I got the little bugger. This trap surely has the power to do the job and worked on the first go. Impressive, now I know that this mouse won’t be learning to avoid the trap. Would definitely buy again if these traps start failing in the future as fantastic value, strong quality, effective and for those who are squeamish, you don’t see any blood or spillage; just the rear legs and tail of the rodent. Best to empty it the way it came through. Easy to clean. UPDATE About a week after purchase, saw another mouse in my home. Got the trap out, used some banana this time and placed it near where I saw its location. Within two hours, clang! Caught. FURTHER UPDATE Sighted mice and thought this trap will help me out like it did before. However, despite setting numerous baits, mice were able to take out the bait each time without triggering the trap. Had to resort to buying an electric trap to take care of that problem which it did. Would I still buy this product again? Definitely, just take note mice are lightweight to set it off.

Just What The Exterminator Ordered!
I use them for mice indoors and they have been great. I hv the Victors electronic ones which are great too, but: 1. Even though the batteries last a while, you have to buy batteries, so extra expense. 2. I don't know why but the electronic traps seem to cause the mice to decompose faster and give off a God awful smell. The Kat Sense can sometimes miss but it catches so much more than misses (I'd say 80% or better catch rate). If you put the bait firmly in the little food cup, the mice have to go deep in to dislodge the contents and that's when u have best success. So use peanut butter, cheese, cooked rice, seeds, or other sticky things that sit firmly in the cup so the suckers have to go aaaallll the way in to trigger the trap. I was shocked. Most recent catch was two mice together! I was shocked. One was caught by his tail and was still alive. The other was firmly clamped on and dead, dead. The four best things about Kat Sense traps are: 1. If you are awake or not a super heavy sleeper, you hear when the trap has caught something. 2. They are easy to empty and clean 3. The mice seem to decompose with less smell than when u kill by other methods. 4. They are safe for your hands when you are setting them. All this makes them easy peasy lemon squeezy to use. I have tried other methods of killing and this the easiest. I alternate in my space btwn these and the black sticky pads by Tom Cat. The white sticky traps are useless. I guess in the dark, mice smell them and even with poor eyesight see the white a mile away. Maybe mice (not rats) are larger in NYC...(we know well-fed NYC rats are humongous), but I use these successfully in catching adult mice. The glue traps usually take care of the young, small ones. The only con, I lose the food cup sometimes coz I flush the dead critters and the cup falls into the toidy. There is review I read where the person throws out the traps because the body fluid of the dead critter gets on it. I use gloves when removing mice bcoz they carry tons of diseases. Then I spray the entire trap down with bleach or food grade peroxide to disinfect wash off any residue and reuse. Since trap has no exposed metal parts to corrode, it works wonders. Using the gloves and washing the traps also makes sure there is no human smell on the traps. When mice smell our scent, they are less likely to enter the trap.

These Traps Work Great
First off, this trap works. Plain and simple. Add a little peanut butter, set the spring loaded mechanism and this baby catches mice. We bought the 2-pack because our small store has a sudden mice problem. We have been opened 7+ years and no rodents, but a world (in)famous discount grocery store opened next door about a year ago and now... mice! ugh. The trap is easy to set and seems relatively safe. The opening for the mice to enter is small, but I fear small children or cats could get their hand/paws in this and get quite hurt. So if you have small kids or cats, you will need to keep these well hidden. I knocked off 1 star because these traps don't always kill the mouse. We have had two traps for 3 days and have caught 5 mice so far. Of the 5 mice captured, 3 were still alive in the morning when we arrived at our store. Their backs were quite crushed, so I am surprised they survived. I picked up the trap and released them into our dumpster. They each scampered away the best they could. My wife is not the squeamish type, but she does not want some mouse looking at her when she disposes of it. Would I recommend these? Definitely, they work quite well and are easy to bait and set.

Go ahead and put in cart now!
Definitely gets the job done! We had problems with rats in our chicken coop. I put a milk crate over the trap and then a cinder block on top of crate. I caught a rat every single night that I baited the trap. It is super easy to load the bait (used good ole faithful peanut butter). No need to to worry about sticky traps, snapping fingers, or poison that can potentially harm other animals. I would 100% recommend.

Worked on first night!
Easy to set up. I like the design better with the tunnel to make sure the rat is in the point of no return. Set it up with a little peanut butter and next day caught it! Easy to drop the rat into the garbage and reset.
