Best Customer Service ever!!!
Normally I don't write reviews... but after such a positive experience with this company, I felt that it would be unfair not to share it.I received these inserts in December/2016. I loved how my jars looked - I even ordered some blue ice rocks for the jars, and they looked amazing! After leaving my jars out for most of the Winter, where they were really being abused by all the snow, I decided to bring them in.As soon as the snow was gone, out they went, but unfortunately two of the twelve inserts did not work anymore. I thought I had already gotten my money out of them, but I decided to call the company and ask for a replacement. I called and left a message on Saturday morning. Saturday night the nicest man returned my call, apologizing for not having answered right away - he was away on a business trip.To make a long story short: On Monday I received a replacement for my full order (yes, 12 brand new inserts), plus two sets of their new, larger inserts, and two sets of the colored led strings! Who does that? Awesome experience! I hope Kentucky Home stays in business for a very long time. Unfortunately I might not buy again very soon, since I have a huge supply of solar inserts now.Thank you very much, Jim! 3 Pack - Solar Mason Jar Lid Insert - LED Mason Jar Solar Light for Glass Mason Jars and Garden Decor Solar Lights Maria

Works great so far
One of the three units received was defective, but the seller replaced it quickly. Great customer service. These fit perfectly into regular Ball mason jars (and I would presume any other mason jars of the regular size) under the metal lid. I had done some research about making my own mason jar solar lights, but getting the lights to fit and having the lid stay waterproof is a challenge, probably not worth the effort of saving a few bucks. With this setup, you can simply unscrew the mason jar lid to replace the rechargeable battery in the solar unit if ever necessary. Have only had them a few days, but have hung them on our deck and they have come on at night just fine and shine most of the night. We put white marble chips (from the local hardware store--cheap) in the bottom of the jars to keep them steady in the wind and also to reflect the light, and that has worked very well. Some reviews have indicated slight disappointment that the light is not especially bright. With the reflective rocks in the jar, they look good to us. Nothing to read a book by of course, but still very noticeable and pretty--even from a distance. We will see how they fare over time, but so far we are very pleased and would highly recommend.

Great accent for your home and backyard!
These ingenious lights are what I've been looking for the longest time! In the past I've hacked together a coin battery, a LED and a binder clip, with a piece of twine, to hang a light source in a mason jar, but these actually fit in the (REGULAR MOUTH) lid and they're rechargeable via sunlight! As I noted, you must use a Regular Mouth jar (somehow I've managed to gather almost exclusively Wide Mouth jars in my home), so be sure you've got them on hand. Older, mostly vintage style jars will very likely work just fine. When you use these, be aware that the light is directed downward, so you may want to use something to diffuse the light in the jar, such as marbles, or what I chose, Sea Glass, which provides a nice blue and green color. As these are pretty much ready to go right out of the box, they'll be great for this time of the year, on your patio, in the back yard, or even on a camping trip!

Great little light - but buy some rubber gaskets if you'll be using outside
OK, I really don't know why - but I wanted to put about 20-40 not too bright lights up in the trees of my front yard at random heights. Now that it's done it looks pretty amazing. A few things:With these lids and a standard mason jar you're going to end up with a jar full of water. I had to take them all down, buy mason jar gaskets and reassemble. -1 for no good seal, +1 for the fact that even after getting wet every one continued to work. These are not bright lights. I've found that a small amount of lightly crumpled white tissue / packing paper (quite small) really amplified the light output. There are others out there for as much as $20 each. They look a little more solidly built - but these have been great for me for about 1 month of warm, cold, rain. And, unlike a lot of LED products - 100% of these have worked out of the box.

and well these solar lights are pretty bright, the problem i have is the light ...
so i bought some green vintage mason jars to use with the solar lights for my back deck to give it a little light since im way out in the country, and well these solar lights are pretty bright, the problem i have is the light is it shines straight down the jar and it looks kinda weird in a empty jar so what i did was bought a bag of clear glass marbles and filled the mason jars up and what that does is it spread the light out better and makes the inside of the jar look a lot better, the only thing that could make this a better light i think is to put a cover over the led to make it spread more evenly through out the jar, the price on this 3 pack is great though

Highly recommended - outstanding product and service!
The quality of this product is outstanding. It is very well made. Directions say to place in direct sunlight the first time, but I was busy and just put it on my kitchen window shelf, which doesn't get direct light. I thought I'd check it that evening anyway. It lit right up. It has a very nice, soft light. This product would be perfect to put around your porch or tables to sit outside at night to give some great mood lighting. Or inside for zero power cost nightlights. I have since ordered some more (the larger version) to test them out as well. I can't recommend this product enough and the great couple in Kentucky who provide them. I was so pleased with their customer service (I just had a simple point or two), that I have also ordered some of their wine bottle light inserts to burn on my patio this spring. I'm sure I'll be giving them a great review too.
