Works well, easy to install
Allows for control of temperature and humidity on/off thresholds as well as sitting current conditions for temperature and humidity. Phone app is decent, not great. For example, does not show current fan status of on or off and does not show the time of last update. But having access to fan settings and being able to monitor the fan and humidity in the attic was worth the cost of this unit. Adding this unit to the fan was very easy. And hooking up the controller to the internet was also very easy.

DO NOT BUY - DESIGN FLAW
Installed this device only to later be told upon a call to the manufacturer's support desk that the transmitting part of this unit needs to be placed within 20 feet of my router. When is that ever going to occur when this unit basically is attached to the fan at the top of the attic roof? Who keeps their router in their attic??? The hub connects via ethernet cable to the router and is not problem, but again, unless the router is within 20 feet of the fan/transmitter, the smartphone app will not work to allow you to change the settings on the device. I uninstalled this and replaced it with the thermostat that came with the fan. Fan and hybrid power supply are not a problem, and work well. The problem is just that this unit, as a practical matter, is almost never going to work for anyone.

It works
I bought this wi-fi humidistat-thermostat along with a Remington roof-top solar vent fan, and its optional 120v. back up power supply. The product came with no instructions. But the fan and power supply did have good instructions. The fan came with a thermostat, which was attached with a polarized connector. All I had to do was unscrew the existing thermostat and screw in the wi-fi humidistat-thermostat. The SolaCom phone app was mentioned in the Amazon product listing, so I installed it on my phone. I plugged the hub into my router, and my phone app connected with the hub. The app showed an option to add a device, so I clicked on that, and it presented the option of scanning the QR code on the device, or on the packaging. There was no QR code on the package, so I crawled up into the attic and scanned the humidistat-thermostat. It does have a QR code. The device immediately connected with the hub, and I noted the on and off parameters' display screen for both the humidistat and thermostat functions. There's a separate screed to edit the settings. It also has an on-off manual switch, which I operated successfully. The attic fan vents the 1/3rd of my attic that has a crawl space. The rest of the attic is semi-finished and is insulated with ceiling finishing directly on the inside of the rafters. I chose to get the back up power supply because trees shade the fan's solar panel in the mid to late afternoon, and the attic remains hot for 2 to 3 hours after sundown.

Worth the Back Order Wait
Totally worth the wait to get this product. The original temp sensor its set to where the fan will no go off after dark if the attic is still to hot. Once I installed the smart sensor, and connected it to my router it was super easy to download the app and find the device on my cell for programming. Was able to set the temp sensor to shut down at a higher temp, and not be running on 120V back up power after dark.

Did not work for me
I installed this and only successfullly connected it and paired to the app once in my garage when all components were within a foot of me. Once installed i had the hub in my loft so pretty close to the attic fan but it would never connect to the fan when i attached the remote sensor for the hub. I tried to delete it and re-add it and was never able to get the device to add to the app again. I tried customer support by email which was terrible. They asked basic dumb questions and i opted to return the device since i live in florida and having this option to control the device was just a nice to have. The software is terrible and needs work. I do not recommend this product.

Does not work well; app is skeletal at best
EDIT: Magically, the unit started working. I’m happy I was able to make adjustments needed, but another reviewer was right that the hub and receiver at the fan must be very close. This is an enormous design flaw, since routers will not be in an ATTIC. I am lucky to have previously installed conduit and a mesh network, so plugged directly in to an extender that is below the fan upstairs. It connects *okay* now. It is clear that the receiver is actually using 1980s technology that wireless phones in homes used. What a joke of a product in 2022 for that price. It’s a great fan and product otherwise, so why the terrible add-on?———What can I say? It simply doesn’t work. The hub blinks red regardless of settings and such. The instructions are beyond useless. They say if a light is blinking red to “unplug” everything to bypass the firewall. This did nothing. It is plugged directly in to our router, which is extremely reliable. The app is horrible. It’s GUI looks like a developer platform, and the only real feature is showing humidistat and temp readings, and allowing changing thresholds. Those are valuable, but it’s like getting water, to live on, from a dirty pond. Valuable…but c’mon. It all doesn’t matter to me, because the hub isn’t connecting properly anyway. What’s bizarre is that I can access it via the app and see sensor readings, so it’s clearly getting some internet correctly. It just can’t save settings and blinks red as well..

Easy setup
It took around 20 mins to setup. It’s been 1 day so no review on longevity yet.I do wish one could see if fan is off or on.I’ve seen Some complaints about App,But do you really need a attractive and complex App for an attic fan??Remington….Add the ability to see if Fan is off or on and it’s a near perfect App.

Terrible Product and Terrible Customer Service
I’m glad it’s unavailable because this product is useless. It worked well the first couple of months but then the app kept saying offline. I checked my wifi router and it was fine. I even added a booster nearby. I tried calling customer service but no answer. I left a message, sent an email, and still no answer. I put the original sensor that came with the Remington Attic fan.
