I've moved into an old house with a neglected, dark finished basement. These simple bags work wonders in destroying that moldy smell. Add bright lights to the basement, as mold loves the dark, and use mold-killing spray on walls, but most importantly, use these charcoal bags for fresh air. Give a few weeks to work, and your basement will be a great place to enjoy year-round! Renew them by placing in direct sun outside every month or so. A simple miracle!

I pot one next to a litter box. I could not tell any difference. Maybe I needed a larger one.

I used these in a closet to eliminate minor shoe and dirty laundry odor. I noticed within a day or two that the odor was gone completely. Not sure how effective they'd be for stronger odors but worked well for my situation. Very affordable and doesn't use fragrances to mask the smell.

Edit: they do seem to be working to take the odor away. I’m still not thrilled with their fragility but I’m ordering more because they work.A. I have kids. These are super fragile. Not at all what I expected.B. They have a very strong scent. I can’t quite place what it is though.C. They should be packaged in a box instead of a bag that can get squished during transportation.

Placed these next to baby's diaper pail to address urine smell and they worked great. Couldn't smell anything. Before first use, I placed them in the sun for several hours.

It did not work, wasted time for testing,returning.

Just to be clear, there is no scent, which is why I gave it 5 stars. Otherwise, I haven't noticed anything different in my bedroom. I have a plant (fertilizer) that I can can still smell even though it's on the other side of my room. I would have thought it would minimize the fairly strong odor of that, but it hasn't.As far as allergies, I haven't noticed anything different there either.I won't throw them away, I feel like they are doing something (albeit minimal) but I wouldn't recommend them or purchase again.Also, the size of the bags are smaller than I thought they would be. Maybe they are more suitable for sock drawers, etc.

Horrible! The charcoal bled through and got all over my hands and white counter.When opened it ,it was black from the charcoal leaking out!!! Not happy!! Don't buy this!
