I like the easy measuring bulb at the top. It can be a bit stubborn to get the product to go into it, but it makes life simple when trying to figure out how much to use. When paired with a good cleaning product (soap) this works well for my mead making needs. Everything I have produced so far is free from contamination and progressing nicely after a couple of months. I transferred containers more than three times due to various reasons. Once was to separate a bigger 4 gallon batch into smaller containers for different flavor experiments. One of those transfers failed due to the jug I used leaking at a spout, so I transferred it into a different bucket, then back when I had fixed the spout (sanitizing everything as I went along), and then another transfer to rack off the trub from those batches to secondary containers, as well as several samples taken for alcohol measurement and tasting. A spray bottle of this stuff is your best friend for quick sanitization needs. Pay attention to the instructions and you should be good. I will be ordering more when I run out.. but with as little as is required, I doubt I will need more for quite some time with this sized bottle.

Starsan is a wonderful product. I have not had brewing infections since I started using it over 20+ brews. It can also be used on any other hard surface, like a countertop, cutting board, or the little crevices in the dish rack. It is great to keep in a spray bottle on the countertop in the way you might use vinegar based cleaners. It is acidic so I am not sure if it's great for natural stone or wood countertops but it's great on melamine, appliances, and plastics. I like to use water from a brita to reduce interference from calcium (alkaline) in tap water. That seems to hit 3 on my ph paper. I will be buying more.

I initially got this for a batch of mead, and I found out that it works great for sanitizing dishes after they've been washed. If you use an extremely low concentration approximately 1/4 of the recommended amount this was sanitize your dishes after you've washed them. As someone who comes from the food industry this is an invaluable step that can solve a lot of problems. And of course it works excellent as a work surface and work area sanitizer as well.

I do about 400 lbs/year of homemade sausage, salami and whole cuts of cured meats. Because all of these meats are fresh (raw), I have to make sure that all of my equipment and work areas are super clean and sanitary. I use this stuff by the gallons and it does an amazing job. I also use it inside my curing chamber to sanitize and kill everything in there before putting a fresh batch of meat in to cure. A little bit of this goes a very long ways. The only small inconvenience that I have is that I usually fill up a half-gallon garden sprayer so when mixing up a half-gallon, it only requires a couple of milliliters of Star San so it is hard to measure such of a small amount....but this is an incredibly small problem. I highly recommend this product.

This stuff is simply amazing for home brewing and sanitation. Comes in a really neat self measuring bottle. I mix up 2.5 gallons at a time and sanitize all my equipment and my arms. It’a easy to use, smells okay, and is pretty safe.
