This skimmer seems like it will work fine, although it is smaller than I thought; it looked from the pic to be identical to one I am replacing but I was mistaken. It'll be fine for my purposes, though. The main reason I bought this specific skimmer is the fact that the skimmer fabric can be removed and replaced when needed by removing two screws and lifting off the plastic rim from the aluminum body. I have some black window screen fabric which lasts much longer when exposed to sunlight. I did this on my earlier one with no issues. Many of the skimmers sold now have the edges of the fabric molded right into the plastic frame with no metal core. Obviously when that rips it goes in the trash.

The frame on this was surprisingly strong. The net is very large which is helpful for scooping up a lot of leaves. I also loved the release button. It is separate from the piece that snaps into place, so i never pinch my fingers anymore when i take it off the pole!! Love it.

This net helped me clean our above ground pool. One of those Intex with a liner and bars. The vacuum included was just awful. I was able to use this net to sort of sweep the bottom of he pool and easily get most of the grass and leaves out. It wasn't perfect but the vacuum had so little suction that it would take forever so by getting most of the debris out with this, I could cut that time down.

I needed to buy a replacement pool skimmer. There is an above ground pool at the house we bought and we have been using all the supplies the last owner left with the house. The skimmer they left dry rotted and slits began to develop so I bought this as a replacement. It’s extremely light weight and easy to assemble. Since it’s light it’s also easier to scoop and it glides well through the water. I did leave our last skimmer out over the winter and I fear that could have been the reason. I plan to take better care of this skimmer and move it in over the winter. It’s extremely important for removing leaves and bugs that get in our pool.

- The poles didn't screw together all the way- Once you put the skimmer in the water, the light aluminum pole weakness is apparent- The mesh is fine, but flimsy-The mesh is poorly attached, so I'm sure if I continued to use it, it would tear off the frame soon- I might use the skimmer without the pole to fish some debris out, but overall it's going to be useless- 2/10, would not buy again.

I needed a replacement for our skimmer that we have had for 2 Years. This skimmer is cheaply made and very hard to empty. My old skimmer you could turn and the mesh would flip through making emptying easy. This was about the same price but better quality materials.This mesh is stiff and the plastic is cheap. Had my dog not put a tear in my other one I would had returned. I do not recommend.

It is not quite as sturdy as I would like a pool skimmer to be. This is probably because it came with multiple parts to assemble into the pole, while usually pool skimmer poles are one piece. So when I use the skimmer it bends when I lift it from the water. Hopefully it holds up in the future. My main worry is that it will become permanently bent from the force or it will break.
